I ask many questions on here about autism because my daughter is autistic and am always eager to hear about other peoples experience because as parents of children with autism will know they are like snowflakes no two the same.
I feel quite privaliged to live in the u.k and my daughter goes to an excellent special needs school but i am quite sure in my mind that the americans do lead the way in this field and do alot more for children with asd.
My heart though goes out to countries were it is way down on their priorities either because of war or other reasons. Having a child with autism can be difficult but i thank my lucky stars every day she was born in this country.

Especially the stupid ones I've asked like:

"What's the easiest way to lie?"

"Does Shakira really want to make a man speak Spanish?"

"Wtf don't I ever get best answers?"

"How do Newton's balls work?"

"Do you think homosexuals are gay?"

"What would you do if you were still alive today?"

...to name a few. But no really, people actually try really hard to give me credible answers to those questions and it's just funny to see someone try to explain to me what they would do if they were still alive.

I posted this question before and got nowhere, but perhaps I just posted it under the wrong category:

About a yr ago i was listening to Loveline and Dr. Drew was talking about how the caller (female) was putting on kind of a baby voice and just as he was about to explain why some girls do this, the storm that was passing cut off the power and i never heard the rest!
I have recently been thinking about this because of a cast member on Real World right now, who normally has a kind of low voice for a woman, often puts on a little girl voice whenever she is in a situation she doesn't like.
Does anyone have an educated answer or can answer from experience?

mean, of course it's better to follow ur heart, coz then u can do well in it..but what if my parents REALLY want me to take up one particular profession? after all they have done for me all my life, shouldn't i give them this one satisfaction ? they are definitely more experienced and would certainly not push me into something horrible..can i work hard and then be good in one thing even though my heart is not in it??? u gotta tell me which is the better option and please the REASON too...

I used to be all happy and always looked on the bright side of things. Then im not sure what happened, something chnaged and i realized how much people hate me for no reason. im not even kidding. my parents hate eahcother. i seriously have 2 freinds & they're moving to cali and leaving me here. I've just started looking down at most things, not giving anything a chance. i think alot more, about things i normaly dont. ive eaten less, dont talk as much. im extremly shy and dont show much emotion. its completly strange. is this something that would need medical help, or just some time to like..let out. because i really dont want to tell anyone. it will just make them look at me weird even more.

i'm VERY serious. this isn't something i've thought about for hours or days or months... but for years. i've seen the doctors, been on the meds... loved... lost... tried... the hospital...the hot shower.. the walk in the woods... the reading... the groups. the truth is... they don't know how to help me. and i can't go on like this. i'm not trying to be selfish... i've stayed this long for my children as a matter of fact. but what good am i for them like this w/ no real hope of getting better? alot of my depression stems from situational factors... but i can't deal w/ the decisions i have to make to get out of the situation b/c of the rollercoaster i stay on emotionally (i'm bipolar). i've thought i might be better if i got out of the situation..but i can't get well enough to get out. it's a circle that i'm ready to end.

If you know anything about schizophrenia, think about this: Tweety is famous for saying what-when he sees Sylvester?
What is Bugs famous for saying? Plus his expression when he says it.?
tweety would be a paranoid schizophrenia, and bugs would be a hebephrenic or disorganized schizophrenia. Would you agree? know of any other cartoon characters like this?

I think I am bipolar. I have read up on the condition, and I think I fit the description. I definitely have issues. Do to this condition of mine, it is hard for me to get close people and I often ruin friendships. How does one actually get diagnosed and treated? And how do you know for sure if you have it? I really want to get this under control.

Seems strange that I would spend hours trying to answer questions. Isn't this codependency? Should I go buy a book?

I would like to know if anyone has suggestions for some really good and powerful self-help books that I could check out from my library. I'm a very anxious, worrisome, and sometimes depressed person and I can't afford therapy right now. If there is some book that has truly changed your life-something you swear by-please let me know the title/author. Thanks!
