I used to be all happy and always looked on the bright side of things. Then im not sure what happened, something chnaged and i realized how much people hate me for no reason. im not even kidding. my parents hate eahcother. i seriously have 2 freinds & they're moving to cali and leaving me here. I've just started looking down at most things, not giving anything a chance. i think alot more, about things i normaly dont. ive eaten less, dont talk as much. im extremly shy and dont show much emotion. its completly strange. is this something that would need medical help, or just some time to like..let out. because i really dont want to tell anyone. it will just make them look at me weird even more.

Why not make an appointment with your local Mental Health Clinic.

I did for my 14 yr old daughter. She has been diagnosed with having Dysthymia - A form of depression!

You know what's positive about all of this? You see a problem. Seriously, that's a good thing, because it sounds like you're interested in doing something for yourself - that's the key - for yourself. Is there a counselor/teacher/adult somewhere that you can trust? Find someone so they can guide you. Don't put it off. And you know, your friends' move does suck, but now you have somewhere to visit, right? And please, if this has been going on for a while, don't just figure you can smile and get over it. (Hate when people say that!) That could work, but why not step up and check it out. You know, there are questionnaires all over the internet (depression scales and the like). It's a start. Maybe start a journal, too? By the way, if you talk to a counselor, they must treat it confidential UNLESS you are threatening to hurt yourself or someone else.

As someone with depression and who has dealt with serious bouts, I recommend that you try a natural course. I've used Paxil and Effexor and Xoloft. However, the side effects are usually worse. Plus I don't trust the medical professionals. They profit from dependence. PLEASE read DEPRESSION-FREE FOR LIFE by Gabriel Colusens. It changed my life. I still take suplements instead of medication with greater effectiveness. Those that have never suffered from depression can't even relate to the isolation that we feel. Ignore the ignorant fools. I'm just like that. I graduated in 2005 and my friends either moved off to college or got new "cooler" friends. I'm extremely shy as well. I don't open up well. I have trouble with meeting new people. I get nervous and anxious. I'm with ya.

I take Zoloft for extreme anxiety. It helps somewhat, but I have learned to control that part. I still find myself getting depressed and crawling into bed midday because I just don't want to do anything. I think of myself as boring because I rarely do anything that doesn't involve family.

I don't really know what to tell you to do. I haven't tried counseling myself, although my doctor wants me to, but I might suggest that. Sometimes I think that it would be nice just to find someone to talk to. If you want, check my profile and message me on myspace.

Why waste good money on a therapist. All you need is naturale, home made love dear, plus a few packs of chocolate and a couple of bowls of ice cream. Go out, meet people, find things you enjoy doing, make new friends. Remember life is short so girl enjoy it!!!

Yes there is a problem. You should see a therapist and talk to him/her b/c u really need to speak with someone and let out your anger, saddness, depression. You might feel weird calling and making an appointment and going to your 1st session but don't worry about it. Trust me!! good luck hun

Try to avoid dimly lit rooms or sleeping for prolonged periods.
I find leaving the overhead light on at all times helps and staying away from high concentrations of fluoride (mouthwash) products.

Most of all, stay far away from negative people!

You should find someone you trusted and talk about wat you're currently going through... let it all out cause you've accumulated too much inside you.... eg: Counsellor?

Learn to express yourself, think positive! It's not easy process but if you're determine to walk out of depression, no one can stop you!

Other den self help, you need to visit the doc, get medication.... Hope you will get out of it soon!
