Listen to your parents, but build your own list of pros and cons and go with your gut.

I would go with what I feel a passion for. You will be more interested in the classes and more likely to succeed (good grades).
Your parents won't be taking your exams for you or be the ones hiring you when you graduate.
I think you can please your parents by getting good grades and following YOUR interests that will make you successful at whatever career you choose.
Your parents want the best for you and you want to please them. However, your success will come to fruition because of your drive and desire that can only come from within yourself.
Follow your heart and explain to your parents why you want to pursue that career and I'm sure once they see your passion they won't block your way.
Best wishes to you and your chosen career.

take your parents thoughts into consideration, but i'm sure they will support you in whatever you choose to do. i have a friend that tried to go into something because her parents were pressuring her too and she ended up doing very poorly in school until she finally decided to do things for herself. you won't be successful if you don't want to do something. and if you are, then a day will come when you look back and realize you don't like what you have become, because it was all for the wrong reasons.

sit down and ask them to explain why they choice this particular field for u.make them go into details. NOW it's your turn, if you have a particular field in mine be open and honest with them. let them know how much u value their opinions, and that u have listen to them with an open heart and mind.but in the end who has to live this life. If it were a family business and u like it so be it. but to me if they have not done gone down that path how could they ever know. when u are in your 40's its hard to start over.

yourself but a little help from the parents is a good thing. but let yourself decide, because you cant be successful in your carer if your not happy with it. Choosing a career by heart is very important. Let yourself decide. Because believe me, if you don't decide it for yourself you will regret it for the rest of your life. Time is Gold, don't waste it.

It is your life, you should control it. Do what YOU want to do, and what makes you happy, not your parents...unless you don't mind either way. The bottom line is, your parents won't live with you anymore, and you should do whatever your heart tells you.

Live for yourself, and follow your ambitions. Don't let your parents push you towards a peticular job. If you don't like it, you won't be happy.
