Well I was wondering if mental illness is hereditary or if it's just My Family that has a problem? I have an Aunt, a cousin, and a Brother that have been diagnosed with skytzophrenia and another brother who has the characteristics! I have a Cousin who was diagnosed as bipolar! My Father and my Sister haven't been diagnosed with anything, but they are definately ill. my Mother's diagnosis was just Mental Illness! I have two Aunts and a Cousin with multiple personalities. I am agorophobic but thats not where the voices come from!

Okay, so my husband and I have been living through a hard time lately. I mean, we are living with my mother and we are newely weds. Finally, there is an end in sight, and we should be moving out in one month. The thing is that now it is starting to hit me that we are moving out I feel depressed, and am having trouble being excited with him. It is totally unfounded, but I am almost scared that our 'new life' will equal him not liking me as much. I don't want to be this way about things. Any advice? I don't even know where to start making this better.

I have been off heroin for 3 months and I was on it for 1 year and detoxed from it 4 times in one year and this last time I have been successful because I am seeing a doctor and I am currently taking Subutex. My doctor wants to stop that and I am sure that there might be some withdrawl syptoms when this happens. I am also thinking that I will have to go on an antidepressant/antianxiety prescription after that. What is the best and the fastest antidepressant? I have Prozac and Effexor already available.

how do you know when its serious enough to go to your doctor for anti-depressants. i have a good life etc and there are people out there dying and starving to death and i feel depressed. i get very angry over stupid little things, get stressed because there is a lot going on in my life. am i just feeling sorry for myself or is it normal to feel like this? maybe its just that i think negatively. what do you think? are there any natural remedies rather than medication. i have lived like this for 2 years pretending everything is ok and i dont feel like i can go on pretending for much longer. i dont know what to do - help??!!

I started seeing this guy who just got out of prison after being in there for 2 years (DUI, nonviolent). He is a realy sweet gentleman, says nice things, treats me to nights out, tells me how pretty I am. On top of that he is GORGEOUS and the sexx is AMAZING. However, he acts really strange sometimes, like the other night we were all out at a festival, I guess he got pretty drunk and instead of telling me, he left and called a cab home. he called me like 45 minutes later, apologizing cause he was so drunk. my friends think he may be on drugs, I dont think so. I think he just doesnt know his tolerance level cause he just got out like 3 weeks ago. We talked about it, and he said how he wants to have a relationship with me and get to know me. he is very easy to talk to, I have a great time with him, and he could be "the man of my dreams"/ I just dont know waht i want, and it scares me cause I dont want to just be his first "lay" either. what do you people think?

My dad and my brother suffer from ADHD. But I only suffer Hyperactivity, and I don't seem to find information about hyperactive adults with no deficit of attention. Quite the opossite I always need to find myself a new challenge, or task to acomplish, to manage my hyperactivity. Also pretty often I get an excess of energy that seem to be incontrolable for 2 or 3 hours, in which I have to do something physical, and after I released all my energy I feel exhausted, for a couple of days. Most of the times accompanied by super fast heart rate, that has me literally up and running for a few hours. It's really uncomfortable. What kind of condition would this be? Is there any cure? Medicine?

I was diagnosed nine years ago with bi-polar and still tried to live a normal life including staying employed...It got worse for me to stay employed for a few reasons and no longer working. I was denied disability the first time and was too mentally frustrated to appeal within the required time... I have now re-applied again and my paper work is in processing. I just would like any feed back from anyone that has been in a simular situation as me.
