I have been off heroin for 3 months and I was on it for 1 year and detoxed from it 4 times in one year and this last time I have been successful because I am seeing a doctor and I am currently taking Subutex. My doctor wants to stop that and I am sure that there might be some withdrawl syptoms when this happens. I am also thinking that I will have to go on an antidepressant/antianxiety prescription after that. What is the best and the fastest antidepressant? I have Prozac and Effexor already available.

The best person to answer that question which of the available medication is suitable for you IS YOUR DOCTOR! You should not self-medicate antidepressants!!! And if you're not comfortable enough with the doctor you're with at the moment, find another one who will help you!

I'm not going to comment on the drugs but say something else. Go to hayhouseradio.com and listen to some of the programs. You will get some ideas there and perhaps want to read some of the books they recommend. You may even want to take a workshop or two. If you do any of that for awhile, even just listening to the programs, you will eventually find out you are a wonderful, uniquely talented human being that has the right to and the ability to have a happy, joy filled wonderful life.
the only sin is not feeling good. Life is about feeling good..nothing matters as much..nothing...that is an almost quote from Abraham...check it out in the book, "Ask and you shall receive" by Esther Hicks.
All the best

my doctor recently prescribed both for me, but said basically, the prozac was a "band-aid" pill to use short term, until the effexor kicks in, because that takes 3 weeks to start working. The effexor has been a god- send, though, I am less stressed, and I don't feel like I'm going to die all the time. I usually take the prozac at night, it helps to not wake up a zillion times and think about nonsense incessantly. The effexor did actually take 3 weeks to the day to start working. hope that helps

From personal experience I would not take paxil, effexor or lexapro.... they all have horrid side effects.
