I started seeing this guy who just got out of prison after being in there for 2 years (DUI, nonviolent). He is a realy sweet gentleman, says nice things, treats me to nights out, tells me how pretty I am. On top of that he is GORGEOUS and the sexx is AMAZING. However, he acts really strange sometimes, like the other night we were all out at a festival, I guess he got pretty drunk and instead of telling me, he left and called a cab home. he called me like 45 minutes later, apologizing cause he was so drunk. my friends think he may be on drugs, I dont think so. I think he just doesnt know his tolerance level cause he just got out like 3 weeks ago. We talked about it, and he said how he wants to have a relationship with me and get to know me. he is very easy to talk to, I have a great time with him, and he could be "the man of my dreams"/ I just dont know waht i want, and it scares me cause I dont want to just be his first "lay" either. what do you people think?

Your friend is definetly an alcoholic - he needs AA - Alcoholics Anonymous.....Alcoholics are some of the most charming people on the planet; they are generally VERY sensitive, too... but alcohol will always be a problem .... until he deals with it, which is a lifetime thing.....He will need emotional support; but only people who are in Alanon can know how to properly support an alcoholic without making things worse......Alanon is for YOU! You will get the support YOU need to deal with your loved one!

Anything less and you are just fooling around.....and playing with fire.

After being in prison the guy deserves to get drunk after that. Good thing is he took a cab and didn't repeat his mistake to drink and drive.

Just take things slow and easy... nobody is perfect and everybody deserves a second chance.

take it slow- confirm if he is in fact an alcoholic- I know from experience that you cant change them unless they want to change themselves- but you need to get the facts straight before going any further- if you see him drinking more, and more- cause at first he will keep it hidden from you- but then he wont be able to- and he wont stop. you will have to evaluate and be sure things don't get out of hand- but if he has not quit drinking then you should probably leave because that will only bring heartache and pain. sorry kiddo- good luck

DUI---Was that for 'vehicular homicide'? or mutiple DUI's, you kind of didn't clarify, that? That, in itself could shed some light on this guy's behavior or past, a bit more! The biggest, thing, (besides the beforehand) is to take it slow!!! and make sure this person, is what you want.

I would date him a bit longer and see what else happens. That doesnt mean you have to sleep with him or move in. If he cant wait for you and is pushing more, and not respecting your space...then that a red flag anyway. gl!

I think you're headed for trouble with this guy & your best bet would be to cool the relationship & move on.

Use him for sex if thats what you want, but let him know thats what it is. A relationshiip with him is just going to be trouble.
