Pain & Pain Management - May 2007

They wake me out of a sound sleep. For that short period of time the pain is severe. It leaves my calf muscles so sore that I limp when I first get out of bed.

I have been getting sharp pains in my hands and arms. Heat is the only thing that helps. I have recently under gone two spinal epidural injections, and was supposed to have another one two days ago. I recently had a cortizone injection in the left knee. The doctor declined as I have been having tremors in my hands. I am currently taking diaretics and potassium. I am trying to stay away from the narcotics that the "pain specialists" are trying to give me. I would rather be in pain now than have a monkey on my back. I have been drinking planty of water, and taking my vitamins. (Cerefolin with NAC)

Any clues as to what could be causing this? I will be seeing my regular physician on Monday.

I have had these years ago, but not recently

Ok i went to the doctor today and she gave me some antibiotics for my sinuses but my ear for the last day has felt like a bunch of pressure in it and i can barely hear out of it
CONSTANTLY
it been hurting real bad and my doctor look at it and she said its like infected from my sinuses and I have a high tolerance to pain so its sorta really bad (my ear drum almost ruptured she said)
BASICALLY
I need a way to make it not hurt
because it hurts really really bad
sometimes i hear a popping sound from it
i just want the pain to go away with me not messing up my ear
PLEASE HELP
it hurts :(

I am trying to remove the tylenol from my lortab elixir because I have to take large doses for my surgery and my liver doesnt like the tylenol. I put the elixir in the freezr until it was real cold(not frozen) then poured it over a coffee filter I got all the white crytals in the filter and liquid in the cup. Are these crystals the tylenol? Did it work. Some people use the cold water extraction for pills and the tylenol turns to white crystals and is caught in the filter. So did this work? I hope so!

I have lortab elixir for surgery and have to take a large does for the pain but thats too much tylenol. Is it possible to extract the tylenol from the hydrocodone? I know people do it with pills but wasn't sure if its possible with the elixir. Thanks for your help! And quit telling me to get a different medicine. If you dont know how to do the extraction method then dont freakin reply! I'm looking for a straight answer not some BS!

My right knee gets sore when I sit down. As time goes on in this position, pressure builds until I am forced to extend it rapidly so as to "crack" it. Once my knee returns to its position (calf approximately ninety degrees to femur), the cycle begins once again.

I can't keep it extended all the time, as I drive quite a bit.

My left knee doesn't have this problem.

mkay lately i've been in so much pain,...my gut feels like someone is continually pressing into it until it hurts...my heart and chest feel like muscle pains but more intense. sometimes I can't breath and it feels like i have a lump in my throat. my arm feels like it goes numb but then again it feels tingly and feels like...hmm, know how it feels when your foot falls asleep and you cant move it,...yea thats how it feels on my arm and sometimes my fingers....i have no clue what the hell is wrong with me. I can't go to the hospital unless something is 'wrong' according to my mom. I know something is but i want to know what it is....
oh it might help if there's some facts about me....I'm 16, I'm 5'4'', and I weigh about 140 pounds and there's no other medical conditions with me that i know of.

I have been having sciatica/nerve pain in my legs for about 9 months. Have had x-rays, MRI, EMG, and other tests and all indicate that I have no spinal problems or nerve problems. I am not diabetic. The doctors are totally confused about what is causing the problem. I tried chiropractics and physical therapy and neither one helped. My doctors are prescribing pain meds but I would really prefer a natural or herbal alternative. Has anyone else encountered a problem like this and how did you cope with it?

I never had an injury to my knees. They hurt pretty much at night more then any other time. The pain can last up to an hour or more. It also wakes me up in the middle of the night. Could it be tendinitis? The doctors that I have went to say they can't find anything wrong, but they never took an x-ray or MRI. Some please tell me what you think, cause I really don't want to have surgery.

What is the best way to releieve pain for spondylothesis other the streching and being hunched over? That only helps while you doing it and I am taking motrions and not seem to have had any luck with it. I am in the final stages and the doctors are saying that I will probably be facing back surgery in the next few years.

Both my elbow's are really sore.Particularly my right elbow.I 'm 18,Haven't hurt them in anyway.I can't lean on them and when i hold my arm up i get shooting pains.They feel swollen and like there's fluid in them.I don't have a problem with any other joints.Does anyone have a clue what this may be?
