I never had an injury to my knees. They hurt pretty much at night more then any other time. The pain can last up to an hour or more. It also wakes me up in the middle of the night. Could it be tendinitis? The doctors that I have went to say they can't find anything wrong, but they never took an x-ray or MRI. Some please tell me what you think, cause I really don't want to have surgery.

Sounds like arthritis to me. Alot of people are surprised when they find out how painful it can be. (I know I was). Arthritis also can start at a very young age, so don't let it fool you. Try taking Aleve Liquid Gels about an hour before you go to bed, that may help a little.

You have to have tests. Go back and ask for them
