Your tube is plugged because of your sinus infection. Keep taking your meds from the Dr for your sinus and it should heal on it's own. You could also take tylenol to ease the pain (check with your Dr first because it could interact badly with the meds already prescribed to you).

I feel for you, honey! I have only had one ear infection my entire life. Didn't your doctor prescribe you some ear drops? If you go to the pharmacy, talk to a pharmacist about over-the-counter ear infection pain medicine drops. If you don't have access to a pharmacy close by, use a blow dryer on low and blow it into your ear...for some reason, the warm air actually makes it feel better.

Another thing that you might want to try is taking some Ibuprofen medicine that will take some of that pain away...works for infants, and it helped me too!

Place a warm rag under the ear that is bothering you while you are lying down. Of course, make sure that you have something protecting your pillow from getting wet, though.

If the pain won't subside, call your doctor as soon as possible to re-check your ears...if your ear drums were that close to busting, it is possible that they probably did do that.

I get this a lot. Basically, all of your sinus pressure was pushing on your ear drum. The popping is good, it means the pressure is moving. Take some tylenol or advil and take a steamy shower. The steam will help break everything up more. Use saline nose spray or sniff salt water to break things up more, and keep blowing. It will hurt like hell, sorry to tell ya, when you hear the big pop. Good news, the big pop means it has moved away. The pain is your ear adjusting to the pressure change. Don't put a q-tip or anything in your ear right now, you may cause damage. Good luck!

I have a friend who is a mother earth type. She does everything natural and homeopathic.

Ok, I know this is going to sound like the craziest thing ever but this is her remedy for an earache. I have never tried it but if I was in a lot of pain I would.

Take a potato and cut it in pieces. Put the pieces in a garlic press and drain the juice. If you do not have a press just squeeze any juice out you can get. Put the juice in the ear that hurts. It is supposed to stop the pain but I have no idea why. When my son's ears hurt they gave him drops for the pain. Call you doctor and ask if they can call something in.

I have had bad ear aches before, so empathize with you.
Did your doctor give you any antibiotic or suggestions for helping you with the ear pain? You may need to make another appointment with the doc, to come up with a treatment for the ear problem.

Meanwhile, here are some articles I found for you about possible ways to deal with the pain... and don't rule out ibuprofen.

This one is about a medicine for ear infections... I don't know if it is OTC or prescription only: http://www.xlear.com/articles/ear-infection-symptoms.aspx

On this one, scroll down to where it says: Home Treatment... it will list some ideas for relieving ear pain... also, it goes on to list some over the counter meds you can get to try and relieve your discomfort: http://www.providence.org/healthlibrary/contentViewer.aspx?hwid=earp4&serviceArea=generic

I didn't read this one... it seems to mostly deal with children and their ear problems, but I say, what's good for the gosling is good for the gander... or something like that. You might check out these "natural" remedies: http://www.wholistictherapycentre.com/ear-ache/ear-infection.htm

I hope one of these helps... and I hope you find relief soon! Take a couple of Advil or Tylenol, too! Also, Excedrin is very good.

I am so sorry you are in pain.... I have a lot of sinus pressue problems and massage it out....try one of those electric massagers right around the back of your ear and the nape of your neck and at your temple. I am a big believer in hot compresses....Another thing you could try.... It can't hurt is to clean your ear out with hydrogen peroxide...It will be extremely uncomfortable while you are doing it but just lie on one side and have someone pour it in your ear and let it sit and bubble for a few minutes. It will release any built up wax and yucky whatever it is in your ear... I would also recommend keeping your sinus passages clear - with nasal spray. I hope this helps and I hope you feel better.

go get something called "Sweet Oil" put some on a cotton ball before you go to sleep and put the cotton ball in your ear. asprin will help with the pain and the oil will help with the clogging and your sinuses. I get those a lot. I just got over one of these about two weeks ago.

ive had one that bad before, same exact symptoms. try a heat pad, that may sooth the pain, you could also try a ice pack, this would make the swelling go down and relieve some pressure.

Tylenol may help with the pain as well.

If you have to blow your nose, do it VERY gently. I put a hot wet washcloth just under my ear and let the moisture soak in and that helps with the pain and loosens stuff up. Rub some Vicks salve on your chest to help open your sinuses up. GOOD LUCK. get well soon.

A little warm olive oil put a few drops in your ear and then put cotton in it to protect it. It helps heal, soothe and causes it to drain and relieve the pressure.
