My mom broke her leg, she had the survey and is now in the cast. However her medication is done, she doesn't have a refil, and can't get the doctor until Monday. Do you know of any home remedies she can take to alleviate the pain a little.

Anything will work!

Thanks in advanced!

My right foot becomes really painful every few weeks. Starts at my big toe and goes round the ball of my foot.It also becomes quite swollen. It lasts for about a week. Im planning on walking the west highland way next year and starting to panic a bit now. Nothing in particular seems to start it off.

surgery is presently not recommended by the neurosurgoen.HEr profession as a dentist is out of question . remains depressed. children also get scolded by her at times unnecessarily. I am myself a physician. My work at hospital is definitley heavy and after that Irequire a break but at home also the gloomy life continues. The flame of life is burning at double speed . I feel at this rate the candle will extinguish soon. I feel concerned for my children. What should I do to bring back happiness at my home ?

i have a strange situation. i get this horrible pain at work on a daily basis. the pain is achey and dull and is located on my right side, right in the middle (it radiates front and back sometimes) and is located right in the middle of my rib cage. it only happens at work and i dont know why. i've tried wearing looser clothes (thought it was from tighter jeans) i've tried adjusting my chair, nothing is working. it also feels tender in the front of the area where it's hurting and hurts when i press on it. what could this be?

I have big breast, they aren't huge (38 DD) but are they big enough when compared to the size of the rest of my body. Although my job is a physical one, I always have horrible lower back pain thoughout the day. I'm not even doing a lot of work sometimes, just by standing on my feet it hurts.

Some people have breast reductions because of this, but I don't want one. The scars and recover time aren't worth it because I don't even know if it is t he cause. Also, it does give me confidence, and most guys love big ones. But, could this be the cause of my back pain? No one else complains about it at work as much as I do.

I have to get a tetanus shot very soon. I know that my arm is going to be sore, but what should I do to help it from being really sore. I have heard of having someone rub it... what else? I really hate needles, so I also have trouble because I tense up. I am really nervous. Which arm should "get it"? Help... I need good advice.

I recently burned my feet by accidentally pourning boiling water on them (I know dumb thing to do), but anyway I have been prescribed tylonal w/codene, percaset, and now vicodin. None of them seem to work to keep the pain away for more then an hour and even then its just the edge. Can anyone suggest what else I can do? I am scared about becomeing dependent on these drugs.

Can someone help me understand the mechanisms by which pain signals travel from the site of injury to the various parts of the brain. And also the role of the descending pathways that help to mediate pain. And finally the gate theory of pain proposed by Melzack and Wall.

I sort of understand bits and bobs of the physiological mechanisms of pain but I am finding it difficult to put it all together to understand it in logical and coherent manner.
