Scoliosis is an abnormal curvature to your spine. It is usually checked for in children and can be corrected by wearing a specially made back brace and/or surgery. If not corrected, it can become life threatening in severe cases.

As others have said, scoliosis is a curvature of the spine. It can either curve into an S or a C shape. However, it's not always servere (alot of people have only 10-20 degree curves, barely noticeable and never need a brace or surgery).

The other thing I saw wrong is that somebody said you're born with scoliosis. You are NOT born with scoliosis. It develops later. The majority of the causes are listed as idiopathic, which means that nobody knows how they develop

Scoliosis is a condition that some people are born with that is a moderate to severe curvature of the spine. Depending on the severity of the curve a person can correct the curve by two ways. Some people may need to wear a back brace, and some may need to have surgery such as fusions or rods placed on either side of their spine to prevent the spine from damaging the nerves close to it.

Good luck and I hope I was some what helpful. Do you have scoliosis?
