For traveling to foreign countries, the easiest way to get Hapatitis A I heard is through contaminated water and raw food. If you drink bottled water and eat cooked food, are you then pretty much safe from getting it, or can you still get it even if the cooked food was prepared in contaminated water?

Yeah well recently i had felt really sick, and i attempted to throw up, so i would just feel better afterwards. So yeah i tried doing that, but i would just use my stomach muscles to try and push it out...you know whenver you throw up. I didnt end up throwing up or anything, but later on i had taken a drink of soda, and it hurt very badly, in my chest or around there. Whenever i breath it also hurts, or when im using the restroom and stuff.

Im just wondering but is it possible to injure something when throwing up? i feel as if i would break or rip something, while doing anything. It also hurts like by my throat. Please help if possible. I have only been feeling like this for a few hours, but if the pain stays, i might have to go to the doctor. Thanks everyone!

I have noticed for the past two weeks I have been having headaches about every other day. I have noticed that it is only when I am at work. The headache goes away after I take an advil, but I am wondering if it is something serious or if it is because I use the computer all day. Serious answers only please.

I've noticed that I have felt better drinking high alkaline water. It could be a placebo effect, but I feel that my energy is higher during those days. I want to mainly know from a scientific perspective is this the case or are people possibly trying to sell water at a higher price with a "snake oil" sales pitch. If there is evidence of this showing health benefits, what is the best alkaline water on sale? Is there a way that a home system can create purified/alkaline water at home? What is the optimal alkaline pH for water that gives the most benefit?

Thanks!!!!

I went to an allergist today for a consultation after having an allergic reaction to what I believe was penicillin this weekend. i also have an allergy to shrimp. I may have other allergies. the doctor tried to talk me out of getting an allergy test done saying that it's clear that I am allergic to these things but if I want to know for a fact that she'd do it. My question is...should I get the tests done or just play it safe and assume that I am allergic to these things. She said I could go into shock getting the tests but I always thought they were very safe.

I smoke when out drinking (often) but not that much more - maybe one a day otherwise, and was wondering if I will develope an addiction to nicotine at this rate.

Hello. I have eyeglasses but can not wear them as I am always hot in the face and have tried every anti fog stuff out there to no avail. So recently I have gotten contact lenses but am not able to get them in. I have tried many different ways and all it does is irritates my eyes and its been about a week eince I had them in because I can not do it and it is very aggrevating. I need someones tips or advise or whatever who has the same troubles or someone who knows about eyes and such with any other ways of going about correcting my vision. Is there any other contacts that might be easier or something? I dont know, all I know is I had it with these damn contacts and since not wearing them I can tell my vision has become worse and am afraid of going blinde possibly.

well my dad has had a stroke, many years ago, he has diabetes, high blood pressure + hardening of the arteries and emphysema. since xmas he has been suffering with dizzy spells. we have checked his sugar level and this is not the problem. we have checked out his medication to make sure he isn´t mixing the wrong ones. his doctor says he has vertigo, but i feel soemthing isn´t right. the attacks can happen anytime of the day. could someone give any advice? what role does uric acid have? could it be something as simple as anaemia? and how can a dopplar test help?

i'm hoping for deep tissue, sports massage, rolphing, or the like. SERIOUS massage (not to say other massage isn't serious, but, essentially, a jackhammer is needed to get through my, ahem, reichian "armour", if you know what i mean). barter's an option, though i'm not good for much...
