Ibogaine cures addiction. You just don't need to take heroin or smoke.
Methadone is addictive, and causes the deaths of several children in this country every year. They find it in the fridge and mistake it for juice. (It has to be kept cold)
Once heroin addicts switch to methadone, they then have to come off of that. Plus taking a drug thats similar to heroin doesn't treat heroin addiction, its very easy to start again.

I'm not sure what ibogaine is, but I know a little something about methadone. It's the most adictive substance in the world, and while it is more managable than heroin (even dosing, safe aqcuisition, lasting effect, etc.) it is terrible for your body and far more difficult to get off of it. Clinics that have clients who are on the "use forever" plan don't tend to see those clients for more than 5-10 years because they die.

I didn't notice any scary dreams the few times I detoxed on methadone. But if your dose is insufficient, you may not be sleeping well, and that could be enough to trigger certain dream states. But why use methadone at all? - it's actually more addictive than heroin. I find it very suspicious that the medical establishment will supply us with a drug which is more dangerous than heroin, but doesn't give you a 'high'. Perhaps their real motivation isn't medical but in fact puritanical. I found it much better to detox on controlled amounts of morphine.

methadone is harder to get off than the heroin itself, i didnt know they used ibogaine in this country as it can be dangerous for other reasons. I thought t5hat it was subutex and buprenophine that was replacingf methadone as the prefered way of subsitution as it is much easier to control and lower the dosage.

Ibogaine is illegal in the US, but is used for heroine withdrawal in many countries. It is less addictive, has fewer withdrawal symptoms, and is possibly better that methadone.

If I had to guess , I would say that it is because methadone causes an addiction about as bad an as the one it is used to treat.
