Not really, well...she doesn't have as much schooling at least. An LVN is a "licensed vocational nurse." She could be just as smart and knowledgable as an RN, but her training is shorter and less intensive, so she likely does not.

It depends. Generally speaking, I'd say no. An RN has had more formal education and clinical training with a different focus. The skills an RN is taught include those learned by LVNs and go beyond them. However, there are plenty of LVNs who have more experience and have more expertise than some RNs. Both LVNs and RNs can be charge nurses (for example), depending on the facility. There's even a class for it.

An LVN does not go to school as long as a RN, so I would say normally a graduating LVN is not going to know as much as a RN,

Now if you are talking about the experienced nurses, I have saw some experienced LVN that know as much as any RN, it totally depends on experience and where they have worked. It also depends on how much freedom a LVN has been given to learn.

I am a retired LVN

knowledge in that feild is given by skill level which you have to earn. It is not to say an LVN doesnt know something that an RN has no clue about, but an RN is a more qualified person to take direction from.

No. Different skills, different responsibilities, different educational tracks and different knowledge bases.
