Yeah well recently i had felt really sick, and i attempted to throw up, so i would just feel better afterwards. So yeah i tried doing that, but i would just use my stomach muscles to try and push it out...you know whenver you throw up. I didnt end up throwing up or anything, but later on i had taken a drink of soda, and it hurt very badly, in my chest or around there. Whenever i breath it also hurts, or when im using the restroom and stuff.

Im just wondering but is it possible to injure something when throwing up? i feel as if i would break or rip something, while doing anything. It also hurts like by my throat. Please help if possible. I have only been feeling like this for a few hours, but if the pain stays, i might have to go to the doctor. Thanks everyone!

You could have pulled a muscle, like the diaphragm, or you could also have damaged the esophagus somehow. I have pain like that for a couple of days after having severe heartburn or indigestion, b/c the lining of the esophagus gets burned from the refluxed acid. It feels like I've swallowed pebbles that didn't go down all the way. I've also injured my diaphragm when vomiting or dry-heaving, the result of which is pain just below the sternum, like someone has punched you. Try taking some Advil (with food! no need to repeat the stomachache) along with a Zantac, and if it doesn't help call your dr. You may have a gall stone or sthing.

Hi Edward,

It sounds like you may have a peptic ulcer or a type of acid reflux.
You must see a doctor to diagnose this correctly ASAP.

Sorry about that! I can't help much but I think you should see a doctor ASAP. Have you tried pain relievers?

You could have given yourself a hiatal hernia. Go to your doctor and be checked out.

Go to the doctor. It is possible to hurt yourself that way but it is also rare to do so. You do have something wrong!
