It is not a pee hard on and having to urinate has nothing to do with it. While your body is sleeping, it enters the REM state, which is the most relaxed the body can be and all muscles and tissue are relaxed. Also, in the morning your hormones are the highest. Tissue in a very relaxed state, plus hormones at the highest, equals morning erections.

It can be anything from your blood flow to you having dreams, either way there isn't really anything much that you can do to prevent the fact that you wake with an erection, you are not the only man to wake in that position either, so do not worry to much about it, i mean yea just because i am a female does not mean that i don't get the fact that it must be quite reasonably annoying at times to wake with an erection that you really do not want, and also for example if/when you stay out the night or so it has just got to be quite embarrassing but like i said i am afraid that is it just nature and there is nothing much that you can do to prevent it. xx

Don't ya know - guys only have enough blood for the brain or the erection, and since the brain isn't really working all that hard while sleeping.... ;-)
