Because we feed our kids more than enough food to indicate that we are taking care of them. In some warped way, when we send our child out and he looks big, we say that they are "healthy", because if we have very skinny kids, we may believe other people may think we are not properly taking care of them.
And, it is also the fact that some parents make their kids eat big portions because they feel that if they are a certain age, then they must eat MORE to grow strong and healthy, like force feeding them. It is nothing sadder then seeing an 8 year old with a body weight of 93 lbs wearing teenager sized clothes, eat everything off his lunch plate then ask to eat someone else's lunch because they either are still hungry or their mom and dad usually gives them double the proportions! Sad. We as Americans should stop over indulging our kids with fast food and s-h-i-t and no type of exercise. But, kids learn from experience. Sad, really sad.

If you haven't noticed America is the fattest country in the world. And it will always be like that.

Because we have people in America that are lazy and all they do is just eat and eat and eat and don't excersise. They don't care about themselves.

two part: one, we live in a nation of great wealth and easy living, so we tend to overindulge and be lazy. two: the media has warped what the human body should look like, so we are unable to see how the natural body should look be.

mostly because kids in US dont work or have little food compared to kids in other countries. kids in other countries have to work more, they have little or no food at all sometimes. we have too much food and sometimes throw it away to waste when the expired dates arrived
