Last night I was at wrestling practice and I put my left hand under a guy's back and he fell backwards on it and my middle finger bent backwards the wrong way. I woke up this morning and it's really red, I can't move it, it hurts when I poke it, and the nail is purple at the bottom (which is blood, I know). It's only the top joint of the finger that hurts, though. Did I break the joint or what?

Good morning,i have had problems with my legs for over the past year, the pain is excruciating and keeps me awake at night and when walking distances the pain brings me to a halt. I have been to my doctor on several occasions with this problem and to be fair he has had blood tests taken an also sent me for xray on my left leg where most of the pain occurs, i have also had medication for anti infalmatory, pain killers you name it to no avail, i asked if i could get a scan but the doctor seemed to ignore this request, i can appreciate that they are expensive, but if the goverment can pay thousands of pounds on interpreters and medical help for illegal immagrants why cant i as a tax payer for over 30 yrs not get the corrrect treatment i require?? i'm 45 yrs old and always been active but due to the pains in my legs this prohibits me from taking part in sporting activities, now they goverment think tanks want us to keep active fit and healthy, i cant due to lack of the correct treatment..

I've read that in most states the dea/state government has set special regulations on how much of what a doctor can prescribe of narcotics, but that a handful of states have instead a pain act so that it is left up to the doctor to decide. Is Florida one of these states, and if not, what are the amounts allowed for doctors to prescribe here?

When doing a run I always get a cramp on my side(s). My gym teacher said eat a banana, it has potassium, but when I eat a banana, my foot goes to sleep - not good for a run... I do believe that I am not eating enough vitamin and minerals, cuz I barely eat. and when I run my sides hurt, and my feet are TIRED! any suggestions? Is there a way to avoid cramps, and if I do get one, a way to releive the pain, so I can continue on?
P.S. the run's tomorrow - although I have a choice to do it or not, I think doing it is better for my body.

Which illegal/or legal with a script (though not to be taken IV) drugs can you IV, without significant risk. I know all drugs are bad but, some pills they say that they have tylenol, buffers and fillers that could be harmful. Does anyoen know anythig so I can make sure my information is correct?

okay. so im 14. i have had lots of staples and stitches. i have also played football for the last 5 years.

I always have a loud ringing in my ears. and if i hardly even tap on my head i almost want to cry. in football i have almost passed out too.

but, the rest of my body is very normal and i hardly ever feel physical pain.

i have bumps that come and go. they are very sensitive.

some times i feel brain dead. ( i am really a very smart person though) like i will ask what my name is. i will forget where i am. and i kinda forget everything. i stair at a random thing with my tongue sticking out. (very weird)

and the last thing is, i sometims cant see. like my vision is very blurry and i need glasses. but then it goes away.

my question, whats going on? why is my head so sensitive? is it normal? should i stop playing football? and should i see a doctor?

I had my wisdom teeth out 6 days ago and have been taking a moderate ammount of vicodin (One 500mg tab about 4 times daily), and supplementing with advil. I have a very sensitive mouth and it is still quite sore a week after the surgery (I had all 4 wisdom teeth and a molar pulled).
I went back to work yesterday for the first time and stopped taking the vicodin and got sick. I assumed it was because my mouth was in so much pain, but it appears that my body became addicted to it. I have worked with people in rehab and have quit taking the medicine and will get over this just fine. I must say im a bit upset about the fact that it happend. I smoked for 7 years and quit cold-turkey!
Regardless, my question is this: My mouth still hurts like hell! What can I do to make it feel better and not mess with my mini-addiction?

My mom has been having this weird thumping in her ear but she doesn't know why? What could be wrong, and what could have caused this? Because she never listens to anything loud, she said it's been happening for about a week. I'll add more details if you guys need more.

Thanks for your help. :)

My dad has been complaining about his knee, today when he got home from work he showed both my mother and I his knees and I could see the swelling right away. He says that he cant bend his knee all the way because it hurts. Are these signs of arthritis? He's scared and a bit discouraged he tells my mother and I that he isnt any good anymore. Im worried about my dad because he has never been sick or had any kind/type sickness........Can anyone please tell me if this is an early sign of arthritis? Thank you for your answers!!

I'm 26 male, not overweight, 5'10" and weigh 172. My general physician says I have a stomach ulcer. She has me started on sample Nexium pills to ease it. If that doesn't work, I'm supposed to go back and get another prescription and if THAT doesn't work, an endoscopy. My diet is very bland or else I get sick. It is annoying but at the same time, exactly what I need. I feel healthier because I'm not eating all sweets. I never ate spicy food but I always ate chocolate alot as well as microwaved pizzas and hungry man dinners. That's for snacks sometimes though. Mostly, I eat cooked meals such as broiled chicken and potatoes with a vegetable. Same for steak, pork chops, lamb chops..basic stuff. I never load it with spices or anything. Just either regular shake N bake for chicken or pork and Emeril's regular seasoning for the others. Why the ulcer? How can my doctor REALLY know it is one? She hasn't seen inside me.....if it heals, will my diet be able to go back to normal but moderately?

My right knee hurts, Everytime I'm done running , after a while one of my knees hurt and I will have pain for like 2 days. When I bend my legs, my knees do not hurt but when I unbend them they do. It's like pain in the joints. Its not very painful but it kinda bothers me.

Whats going on? I'm 16 so i dunno if age has something to do with it lol

I'm 14, female, healthy, and as active as any normal kid. But about twice a week I have spontaneous leg pain - sometimes the left, sometimes the right, never both. It's a shooting pain, when I put pressure on it or move it in a certain way it just shoots down - sometimes making me fall over of immobile. It's usually from the top of my thigh to just above my knee. I have no idea why it happens - does anyone have a similar problem or some idea of what might be wrong?

I had a concussion from being hit on the head at work and kept getting sicker over 2 mo. period. On tues. last wk I had a severe headache was pale, weak and sick at my stomach, sore neck and back and black cicrle under eyes since accident.and sleepy alot. Dr. said this has nothing to do with the aneurysm. Should I get a second opponion?

OK. In June 2007 I was 8 months pregnant and fixed lunch for my little girl and I. It was Dwight Yokums chicken fries. They are supposed to be boneless. I bit into it and a bone was in it. It went between my back teeth and my whole face was swollen and black and blue. Hurt like hell! The insurance company is only offering me $400.00. That seems to be off! First off I was pregnant so I could not take any meds but tylenol and hahahh that doesnt work for something like that. Second off, it said boneless. Third my pain and suffering. What would you do? Settle and take $400.00 or wait and get more? Who would you say to get for an injury lawyer? I had called one and he doesnt want to get mixed up in this case. HELP! Thank you to all who answer. If someone does the research for me I will give ya the 10!

I've been playing the electric guitar for about a year now, but everytime I bend a string it puts so much strain on my hands that it hurts. I tried losening up my joints and being very relaxed making sure I was not stiff but my hands are generally quite weak and its very hard for me to bend the strings with the control i want. I have to strain my whole arm so i can get the force to push the string up. I really have no muscle maybe thats why im having trouble?
