Well im not a doctor nor am I qualified to make accesments so you shouldn't take any merit in my responce and should consult a doctor. Now for my responce. Well 97 could still be considered normal body temperature. Your body is probably just fighting off whatever it is you had. I don't think your body temperature will go too low since thats usually from hyperthermia unless you are running around in the snow all day lol. Adios

You have a fever. A fever is generally a side effect of a virus going around in your body. Just because the side effect is away, doesn't mean that the bug is gone. Medicine does just that, it makes the symptoms go away thus you feel better when you actually aren't.
Being sick is your body telling you to slow down so it can fight the virus. If you just ignore it, your body will be less efficant at dealing with the problem.

either way you have a fever even though you don't think of it that way. your body likes to stay in homeostasis, so a low or high temperature will send your body feeling bad. the reason you are running a temp is because your white blood cells are making antibodies and fighting whatever infection you have. this extra movement will change your body temp.

Anything under 100.0 F isn't a fever, you probably have a cold, colds can take up to 3 weeks to pass your system.
