I'm 26 male, not overweight, 5'10" and weigh 172. My general physician says I have a stomach ulcer. She has me started on sample Nexium pills to ease it. If that doesn't work, I'm supposed to go back and get another prescription and if THAT doesn't work, an endoscopy. My diet is very bland or else I get sick. It is annoying but at the same time, exactly what I need. I feel healthier because I'm not eating all sweets. I never ate spicy food but I always ate chocolate alot as well as microwaved pizzas and hungry man dinners. That's for snacks sometimes though. Mostly, I eat cooked meals such as broiled chicken and potatoes with a vegetable. Same for steak, pork chops, lamb chops..basic stuff. I never load it with spices or anything. Just either regular shake N bake for chicken or pork and Emeril's regular seasoning for the others. Why the ulcer? How can my doctor REALLY know it is one? She hasn't seen inside me.....if it heals, will my diet be able to go back to normal but moderately?

Ulcers are caused by high levels of an acid that is in our stomach called H Pylori and certain things like spices can aggrivate the problem.

I would recommend getting another opinion and preferably from a gastroenterologist (a doctor that diagnoses and treats diseases and disorders involving the digestive tract such as the stomach) to have them evaluate this further. They have special tests they can do to find out for sure if you have an ulcer going on or if it's something else.

I have had problems in the past with gastritis which can also cause a great deal of pain because of some foods being too greasy. Gastritis is inflammation of the stomach.

Gastritis may also be a possibility for your situation but a gastroenterologist can give you more specific clues as to what is causing your pain.

The fundal top size is simply a trademark that the little one is approximately the dimensions it will have to be. It's definitely now not a real indication of what the dimensions might be. An ultrasound is extra acurate however even that may be off via a pound in later weeks. If the fundal top size used to be that correct in indicating measurement then EVERYONE might do it, however there are lots of medical professionals and midwives in which it is not even performed given that it is simply only a consultant. The size can be unique relying on who it's that measures. Take care
