i broke my ankle and im supposed to get the cast off next thursday. but i went today and they changed it (long story) and i could hardly move it and its so skiny im brickin it about getting it off any advice

My podiatrist says that I have to have ankle surgery. He did an ankle stabilization with my ligaments 6 years ago, and now he said I have a tendon that is too long and he wants to drill a hole in my ankle bone and cut my tendon in half and loop it through the bone. I am having discomfort in my ankle when I am walking only, especially up hills, but what kind of surgery is this? I feel like I walked in there with a minor irritation and now he is talking about drilling a hole through my bone. And this just feels stupid! I have no idea what the MRI showed; he didn't even let me see it. Is this normal? What is this surgery called?

I've just been told that from the blood work that I had drawn yesterday..I have really low potassium...and that could be the reason my heart is giving me so many problems..what else can you tell me about this?

I called in a refill for my prescription yesterday for my back pain, but also let them know that I felt like I needed something strong for when the pain gets worse every once and a while. I am running low on the prescription I already have, but the nurse just has an answering machine and says it can take 48+ hrs before she gets back to you. So, do I just wait it out or can should I call the pharmacy and get them to fax over a refill request for so that I could get it refilled tonight?

my boyfriend has had numerous addiction issues in the past - specifically alcohol, painkillers and cocaine. he has been in a twelve-step program for over a year and has been successful. however, he woke up yesterday with severe neck pain and after several hours of unsuccessful rest / moist heat / ice, he took two percocets, given to him by a family member, not a doctor. Since it is only going to be a minimal dose (family member has vowed not to give more than 3 days worth) and since it's being used to treat pain, he feels that it is acceptable. I disagree and would like some outside advice.

One day I woke up and there was pressure/ discomfort in my lower left abdominal. sometimes I stretch when I lay down but what makes me worry its not a muscle strain is my bowel movements seemed to changed and I feel noxious a lot. Im unsure if a abdominal pain can cause this. It seems to lighten up and then come back throughout the day which makes me wonder if its anything serious. I tend to think the worst. I don't bleed when I use the restroom or anything. and there is no pressure when I push on the area but stretching the area seems to make it worst. Wondering if its a strain or something else? Probably shouldn't ask this on yahoo answers but I thought maybe someone strained there abdominal and had these problems accompanied with it. Thanks

i ate canned tuna with some dishes that contained alot of salt i think at 12:00 am then went to sleep and woke up at 2:30 with insane stomache.... my stomach was BLOATED and i tried to burp and fart but couldn't.. i pissed and it still wont go away.. the pain is on and off which is weird... my upper stomach feels like it's going to explode when the pain comes back.

My symptoms are Major Joint pains in all joints except my elbows & right knee. Muscles fatigue and failure to function affecting all limbs but most often left leg. My arms and legs jump around of their own accord. Woke up numbness in right side of my face and had trouble focusing my right eye ever since. Head fog and pain in front of head and through eyes. The most help I've had is with Brufen (Ibuprofen) tablets they clear my head completely & give me greater limb function. Without them I get about 2hrs out of my legs before collapse. Numbness along side of Left thigh area is increasing in size. The more physical stuff I do the quicker my body deteriates.Resting doesn't stop it happening but sleep rejuvinates to a degree. I live with constant fatigue which is improved with Brufen. I suffer a lot of pain in joints & muscles that brufen & panadol help but don't remove. Does anyone know what this could be? My doctors don't know. 3 years now and It's getting worse.

I got them out around 7 a.m., and its about 1a.m. now I cant swallow anything!, my mum gave me pops but they hurt when i swallow and my spit wont go down so i have to spit it in the sink, i even been given the pain med, and they arnt kicking in at all, when i drink water i end up throwing up, same with tylenol. Anything i swallow hurts soo bad even if its really soft...what should i do..Should i have my mom call the doctor and get stronger meds?, and i have gotten rest almost too much rest.

I am 14 years old and I am in the eighth grade and I have been getting head aches every day after 6th period science. And sometimes before that. Then I have to go to PE next with a headache! It is really not good! Why is this happening. I know that it is not from my science class though, but why? Also I have been having trouble sleeping. I will go to sleep and wake up in the next twenty minutes. Last night I even went to bed at only like 12 after complaining to my mom. Then I went t sleep, and woke up an hour later. This stuff is really annoying and this morning my eyes were half closed the entire time! Any ideas or something!!!

For a week, I have suffered from this burning feeling in my inner thighs (not legs but seems like veins). I also have noticed that I am suffering with a migraine for the same length of time. I am just about finished with taking the steroid, dexamethazone, and definately want to be. I don't like the side effects I have experienced while on it. Is the swelling anything I should be worried about or will it go away the longer I stay with the tapering. I have tapered down to .25 mgs. every other day for about 8 days now.........Thanks...........
