I think she has Osteoporosis. The Doc should have her on Calcium and Vitamin D3.

Hi,i think the dr was infering that her bones, and perhaps spine are crumbling, this is common in old age especially in women, its generally called osteoporosis.
I would have thought that her gp would have given her the neccessary pain releif medication, but if you say she is in severe pain i suggest you call her gp and ask for a home visit, and also second opinion!
I would also reccommend getting her a good calcium supplement, and a good all round vitimin supplement.
Finally i would request she gets some form of physiotherapy,or massage ,also ask for a home visit from the occupational therapist, they help to adapt the home to be more easily accessed,as in easier for your nan to move around, good luck, she has a very caring grandchild!

Sorry to hear that. Your best course of action would be to phone your nans surgery and ask for an appointment to see her doctor to discuss her back problem, they will then be able to give you any information concerning what will happen and how she will be treated. explain that you are concerned about what is going to happen and you want the doctor to explain to you, exactly what is going on with her condition.
