There are a number of things that can help~from chapped lip targeted products like chapstick or blistex to products you might already have in your medicine cabinet or kitchen like Vaseline, or shortening...just wash your lips good first with a warm white wash cloth (that helps moisten the lips and also removes the dead skin) then apply your choice of lip balm.

Drink more water. One of the things I noticed right away after I started drinking more water is that my lips didn't feel chapped as often.

If you have extra bits of skin on your lips, don't pull on them, because that will just perpetuate the problem. When you brush your teeth you can run the brush over your lips to get off the pieces that are just hanging on there. Then use a good lip balm. I like Neutrogena.

Your lips can heal on their own if you give them a few days.

Best wishes?

*sigh* Chapped lips can be h*** but here's what I do to get rid of the curse of chapped lips. Get a face rag run it under warm water and rub gently on your lips to get the dead skin cells off. Repeat. Should take about a minute. Than apply favorite chapstick. Also to prevent chapped lips apply chapstick morning and night before you go to bed. :))
Get well soon!

Drink lots of fluids, water, juice, milk etc. As skin and mucous membranes do absorb preferably apply natural oil, olive oil, almond oil or butter in very slight amount after wetting the lips with clean water. No lip biting, smacking with tongue and kissing till completely healed. Cracks in skin and mucous membranes are potential portals for infections. If there is infection including cold sores i.e., herpes simplex you need to consult your doctor at the earliest

That happens to me in the winter too. I use carmex or chap stick. I think its from the cold air and then you lick your lips while your out in it. I put a little in my daughter when we go out sometimes, just to make sure hers dosen't get chapped- that hurts!!!!!!!!!

use some chapstick or lip balm. leave it on overnight. In the morning you should be able to slough off the chapped skin with ease, use a soft cloth/toothbrush to slough off dead skin. Keep moisturizing after that and they should be okay

Mine too! I just keep putting tons of chapstick and lip balm on my lips. You can also put Neosporin on them but mine is the numbing type and I don't want that on my lips.
