What happens to middle-aged men is gout, and that doesn't start in your heel.

I'll tell you what it might be, depending on what you do for sports - I used to be a ski instructor and a snowboard instructor, and somehow pulled a muscle over some bone in my heel and when I moved a certain wait I got a stabbing pain. I didn't figure it out until I was demonstrating snowboarding to someone, and then I got the exact pain. I had to lay off the snowboarding (it's healed and I can do it occasionally now - I don't dare do it more), but that was the heel. "Older men" would be gout and that's usually the big toe. I've have had that too, but they're not comparable.

You probably pulled a muscle like I did, or had some spur or other injury, and just need to try to take it easy and possibly give up whatever specific thing you do that triggers it, which could be anything from skateboards to snowboards.

Simple, you may have just pulled your Achilles tendon. And nothing is just for a certain age group. Studies just show that it mainly happens to these certain groups. Put ice on it, elevate it, and rest. If the swelling does not go down in a few days then you should go see a docter.

Pray to God consistently while trying, as God helps those who help themselves rather than those who are lazy. Lord Krisna said in Bhagavad Gita, we have to carry out our works and renounce the fruit of our action. So we must keep trying and find joy in doing our work, whether or not we get the desired result. We should not lose hope. Do your best and leave the rest to God,it will all come right some day or night.

Sounds like a torn tendon to me, especially if there is a burning sensation.

It could be a heel spur, otherwise known as Plascar Fasciitis (if I've spelt it correctly). It aparently affects people who walk a lot. I had it for a while, but it seems to have worn off. Hope this helps.

it may just be a cramp but if it last more than a few seconds then you need to see a doc.

If it is just a muscle cramp, you may be low on vitamin E.
