My mom has been having this weird thumping in her ear but she doesn't know why? What could be wrong, and what could have caused this? Because she never listens to anything loud, she said it's been happening for about a week. I'll add more details if you guys need more.

This is something a doctor is going to look after. She may have an inner ear infection, very painful until the pressure is relieved through the throat via a valve. It could be a waxy piece or just soiled.

Sometimes you get this. It could be excess water in her ear, ear infection, what they call Tentinitis in the ear. I suggest if it doesn't go away on it's own or if it continues to get worse than a call to the doctor might be helpful.

could be an ear infection .. she should go to an ear doctor as soon as she can
