A couple days ago, I spilled coffee at work. It went through my sweater, my shirt and burnt my skin pretty badly. It went through a couple of layers of skin. My friend told me to put toothpaste on it so I did. And when I showered, it stung pretty badly. It was an open wound but I put neosporin on it and bandaged it. I take it off from time to time to give it some air. Now it looks gross and scarred up and the area around the worst part is red and bumpy. Gross. It kinda itches now. Should I just let it heal on it's own or should I go to the doctor? I don't want to have to go to the doctor - it would be a last resort. Also, should I continue to bandage it with neosporin? It's no longer an open wound by the skin around it is quite sensitive.

Hello everyone, i wanted some insight from people who might know. I've been extremely tired for the past three weeks, and at the end of most nights i get a migraine. They get so it doesn't matter if i take excedrin, i just need to sleep it off. It's kinda interupting my life because i have friends who want to go out, and i make plans, then need to cancel later because of my migraine. Does this sound like migraines or something worse? LIke i said before I am also really exhausted and don't know if being tired is causing it or if it is an underlying problem.

Currently I have lower abdominal pain sort of like when I'm on my period. The pain MILD and is on and off. My lower back aches, and my muscles ache. I feel like throwing up and have for most of the day, but haven't. NO fever. This is wierd but the bone in my butt hurts too. I feel like I need to take a bowel movement but I can't. I do NOT feel constipated, I feel like I can't push it through, it's hard to explain. But it does not feel like constipation.

My symptoms have been gradually getting worse since day one. They are all MILD for the most part. They are all on and off, except for the bowel movement thing which started this morning. I can ignore my symptoms, except once. Last night my body felt very achy and my abdominal pain was worse then usual, and it took me longer to fall asleep. The symptoms were worse while laying down if that makes sense.

I am a 14-year-old girl, am 5'7 and 120 lbs. I am NOT sexually active.

None of this makes any sense to me. Any ideas?

I'm 17.
Last night, I woke up because I had chest pain -- 3 sharp pains; then it seemed to go away and just be a mild discomfort. Today, I have the same discomfort (mostly on my left side of my chest but occasionally on my right) and some numbness/slight soreness in my left arm. I am also slightly short of breath.
I called my doctor and told her my symptoms, but she told me that she wasn't concerned; I've had 2 cardiology workups in the past year, and everything came back normal (I had my ASD repaired when I was 7, but the leakage is extremely minimal and within normal range). I also suffer from anxiety and panic attacks, and my neck is often misaligned.
Since my doctor isn't concerned, do you think this chest pain and discomfort could be due to my neck misalignment (I also have discomfort in my back near my ribs -- they are occasionally misaligned as well).

Does anyone else think that this could be due to my neck/ribs or some kind of acid reflux?

I have heard of deep tissue massages and others, but what is a basic one I want to just relax me and sooth my soar muscles.

Just had major surgery cancelled at the very last minute, because my surgeon could not find enough staff. Went into the Royal Free yesterday, nothing to eat after 6am today, nothing to drink after 11, I am sitting there in my surgical gown, elastic stockings, waiting. Eventually the surgeon came at 1.30 and said she was sorry, nearly everyone had called in sick and she could not get a good enough team together to do my op. She said she would not be happy with fewer than 3 skilled assistants, (It's a long and complex op.) and she had phoned around various hospitals, but did not want to do a job like this with people she'd not worked with before.

She was really decent and sympathetic, and I respect her reasoning. Instead she spent the afternoon doing smaller ops with a smaller team. She has promised me January 7th. I'm grateful she was honest enough not to proceed and to explain why. But can the entire womens' surgical team (apart from one) really all fall sick on the same day?

I have a strange pain in my left hand. It is at the base of my pinky finger, inside the hand just below the knuckle. It is surprisingly painful. It doesn't hurt unless something touches it. Like if I pick up my computer pressure gets applied accidentally, and then it hurts very badly. I have had no accidents with it, have not bumped anything - so I cannot explain it. There are no outward appearances of injury. The pain seems to be getting worse instead of better. Each time it hurts it seems to hurt worse than the previous time.

Should I be concerned? How long should I wait until I see a doctor about it? What could it be?

I have a tibial stress fracture on my right leg. I think I got it in August from the treadmill but it wasn't diagnosed until mid-October. When I first had it, it would only hurt if I accidentally pushed on it. Then it got to the point where it would hurt when I would work (I work at a hair salon and am on my feet all day). I went to THREE doctors and none of them could figure out what the problem is except for one. I got a bone scan and it was definite that I had a stress fracture. The doctor told me to wear a boot for when I work and that should help, but it got worse. I havent healed one bit. So now I'm on a strict routine of crutches. I've stopped working for the two weeks leading up to my next appointment, but I STILL feel no difference and my leg continues to hurt worse than it did before. I dont understand why it's not getting ANY better since I've been off my feet more than I ever have. Has anybody else had this problem?

I have a prescription for hydrocodone. I just got it filled last week, but I would like to get it refilled right away because I am going out of town and my pharmacy doesn't have a branch anywhere near where I'm going. (In fact, I'm going to a very rural place where its going to be a big hassle to get to ANY pharmacy.) The prescription was written "take 1 pill every 6 hours as needed for pain" and the quantity was 60 with 2 refills. Doing the math, if I took one every six hours I would run out 15 days after I first got it filled.

When I realized that this is going to be a problem, I took it to the pharmacy and asked them if they could refill it but they said no. This was only a few days after it was written. I am not submitting this to insurance, so its the rules made by the pharmacy or the government that I need to know. Thanks in advance.

I take Lexapro 30mg daily for OCD (it ain't workin'!!), clonazepam as needed (anywhere from 0.5 to 2.0mg), Ginseng complex occasionally, Garlic capsules almost daily, butalbital/acetaminophen (Phrenilin) once or twice a week for headaches and I've been on a very low-carb diet for over 3 months...I think it could be the clonazepam, so I avoid taking that the night before a jog...Today the chest pain was accompanied by discomfort/numbness in both arms and shoulders...I usually take an aspirin for relief and a high-fiber meal believing the fiber will soak up any excess medication in my bloodstream...The pain usually doesn't start until after about 20-30 minutes of jogging, but once it starts and it gets bad, it may last over 2 hours after workout is done...ANY help/suggestions would be appreciated!
