I want to get a massage because I am an athlete and I lift and run 5 days a week. I am looking at different massage parlors around town and I am curious if there are different types of massages? I have heard of deep tissue massages and others, but what is a basic one I want to just relax me and sooth my soar muscles.

I have Swedish Massage, as I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, disc problem and Fibro, so it is important I get the right massage. Once on Holiday I popped in for a massage and the masseur used her 'elbow'. The following day well if you saw the bruising, swear I had been in an accident. I find Swedish excellent, nice and relaxing, fall asleep job, really good for the muscles and all importantly lymphatic drainage. Good Luck
