I have a tibial stress fracture on my right leg. I think I got it in August from the treadmill but it wasn't diagnosed until mid-October. When I first had it, it would only hurt if I accidentally pushed on it. Then it got to the point where it would hurt when I would work (I work at a hair salon and am on my feet all day). I went to THREE doctors and none of them could figure out what the problem is except for one. I got a bone scan and it was definite that I had a stress fracture. The doctor told me to wear a boot for when I work and that should help, but it got worse. I havent healed one bit. So now I'm on a strict routine of crutches. I've stopped working for the two weeks leading up to my next appointment, but I STILL feel no difference and my leg continues to hurt worse than it did before. I dont understand why it's not getting ANY better since I've been off my feet more than I ever have. Has anybody else had this problem?

My daughter had a stress fracture of her hip when she went through basic training. They finally had to put her on 6 weeks of bed rest to get it to heal. You need to be off your leg totally and give it the time it needs to heal properly. There aren't any shortcuts.

Stress fractures of the tibia can take a long time to heal. You could also be suffering from shin splints which can be very debilitating. I would recommend asking your doctors about a bone stimulator to help it heal quicker and also I would see about seeing podiatrist to get fitted with an orthotic which will help your foot and leg to function better especially in your line of work where you are on your feet all day long. I think some physical therapy, icing, and Advil/Aleve can also help as well. I understand you've suffered a lot, but hopefully some of these things I've mentioned can put you on your way to healing. Good luck!

i don't think of it incredibly is going to impression the therapeutic; your fibula is a non-weight bearing bone. in case you probably did not experience soreness while walking with it, i think of it extremely is going to be ok. refer to you well being care provider while you're extremely demanding. in simple terms be certain which you do persist with their training to transforming into energetic lower back and end if there is any soreness. have been you on crutches for 3 month? that feels like an horrific long term for a rigidity fracture...

Improve your diet, you need a good diet of fruits and veggies so your body can heal. Stress fractures are slow healing. Can you wrap it in ace bandage while you wait for your appointment?
