I'm 17.
Last night, I woke up because I had chest pain -- 3 sharp pains; then it seemed to go away and just be a mild discomfort. Today, I have the same discomfort (mostly on my left side of my chest but occasionally on my right) and some numbness/slight soreness in my left arm. I am also slightly short of breath.
I called my doctor and told her my symptoms, but she told me that she wasn't concerned; I've had 2 cardiology workups in the past year, and everything came back normal (I had my ASD repaired when I was 7, but the leakage is extremely minimal and within normal range). I also suffer from anxiety and panic attacks, and my neck is often misaligned.
Since my doctor isn't concerned, do you think this chest pain and discomfort could be due to my neck misalignment (I also have discomfort in my back near my ribs -- they are occasionally misaligned as well).

Does anyone else think that this could be due to my neck/ribs or some kind of acid reflux?

I had acid reflux when I was a baby and I think I'm starting to get it back (I often get stomach pains and discomfort, etc. that is relieved by Tums or some kind of antacid.) My mother has also had chest pains similar to mine before.

The pain you describe sounds a bit suspicious.. It sounds like it may be cardiac in nature. It all fits except the part about it being "sharp" Cardiac pain is usually a dull, crushing feeling. While I have heard it compared to many things. I think I hear most often that it feel like a car is parked on the person's chest. Also the numbness/soreness in the arm, as well as the shortness of breath fit with this being cardiac specific chest pain. My advise, if you are worried about it, by all means go get a second opinion. Even if it turns out to be nothing, it is at least worth the piece of mind knowing that you are in fact okay.

Let's forget everything you had before, we're speaking about now. Your doctor didn't examine you, only a conversation over the phone.
Whatever your misalignment's were, are, I have no idea. The spine is slipped out ? the ribs? whatever.

Right now, you have shortness of breath, your having angina pains on the right side and you arm, you are having discomfort.
Get a ride and go to the nearest ER and tell them your past and recent problems, let them give you another EKG and possibly a stress test, ask to see a cardiologist, I'm not to comfortable with what your doctor told you especially after your past history. She should have had more concern.

Do it as soon as possible.

If you doubt your doctor's advice, I say get a second opinion from another doctor, not from someone on YA.
