You should really purchase body piercing antiseptic. They sell this solution at all piercing places, and the shop you got your ear pierced at should have let you know about this. Do not clean it with alcohol or peroxide, as they can be very drying and make the healing period longer. Never use bacitracin or ointment on a new piercing also.
I definitely recommend you purchase piercing antiseptic. You can also clean your new piercing with foaming soap (like dial) in the shower, this will help your piercing to heal better and quicker.

Good luck!

The best way to clean a piercing is with antibacterial soap. I use Dial. Just lather up and use a cotton swab and wipe clean. As long as you keep the piercing clear of bacteria the piercing shouldn't get infected.

bactine with a q-tip. and turn the piercing occasionally. never touch it with dirty hands. clean it 2 to 3 times a day for about 6 weeks. cartilage piercing takes a while to heal. alcohol drys out the piercing too much. bactine cleans and leaves the natural moisture still.
