I take Lexapro 30mg daily for OCD (it ain't workin'!!), clonazepam as needed (anywhere from 0.5 to 2.0mg), Ginseng complex occasionally, Garlic capsules almost daily, butalbital/acetaminophen (Phrenilin) once or twice a week for headaches and I've been on a very low-carb diet for over 3 months...I think it could be the clonazepam, so I avoid taking that the night before a jog...Today the chest pain was accompanied by discomfort/numbness in both arms and shoulders...I usually take an aspirin for relief and a high-fiber meal believing the fiber will soak up any excess medication in my bloodstream...The pain usually doesn't start until after about 20-30 minutes of jogging, but once it starts and it gets bad, it may last over 2 hours after workout is done...ANY help/suggestions would be appreciated!

Stop joging and extra stress immediately, just walk at comfortable level. Get an oximeter on hand, if any chest pain happens again and low oxygen then must go to ER immediately.

Age, blood pressure, cholesterol, infection, fat meal and diabetics also increase more risk.

Consult with a hospital cardiologist immediately for tests, medicine and fix it before too late.

Clonazepam doesn't usually cause chest pain so I would rule that out as the cause. Any chest pain that radiates down both arms and shoulders accompanied by numbness has the classic signs of angina which if left untreated will result in a heart attack. I'm sure as you're reading this you've already taken care of the problem but I can't stress enough the importance of getting this checked out. Go to your nearest walk in clinic for an evaluation. Good luck.

This past Labor day the wife & I had traveled down from our home in the Twin Cities to West Pueblo for A Niece's Wedding. On our return drive home, we got as far as Colorado Springs, When I experienced similar symptoms, (additionally I felt like there was a heavy weight pushing down on my chest).

I road along for about 20 minutes thinking maybe it was altitude sickness or bad indigestion/acid reflux, until something told me that this was more than that. I asked her to pull over and we used our OnStar Medical Emergency Alert System to call for Assistance. Within under 12 minutes an ambulance and paramedics were on scene, and getting me hooked up to an EKG, Oxygen, Salen Solution, and heart monitos - etc.My heart stopped on the way from the ambulance into the Trauma Center = Pulmonary Embolisms.

I went into surgery right away and was out of the hospital 5 days later and we continued our trip home. If I had waited any longer, I probably would not have made it.

So, - get thee to the ER - NOW, and good luck!

This is the 2nd question I've answered tonight where it sounds like there are some ****** PE teachers out there! I teach PE myself and will hopefully bring some respect to the position! haha! You need to tell your teacher and/or school nurse about this. If you do have a heart condition, you shouldn't be running without knowing what it is. And if you fail PE for a medical condition, that's not right and your teacher is in idiot!

Have you told your doctor about all the non-prescription medicines and supplements you are taking ?

Sometimes they interfere with the prescriptions your doctor is giving and you have a lot of trouble.

A few years ago I was taking a lot of supplements and they literally "ate up " the drugs in my system causing a seizure.

This or worse could happen to you so please tell your doctor what you are taking and follow his or her advice.

Go see a doctor. Maybe you have too much meds in your system. That's a lot of crap to take.
