why do we still in this day and age pee and plop in one corner of the room and stand there brushing our teeth in the other.
Does anyone else think the situation needs reviewing???

My husband broke the 4th metacarpal in BOTH hands, he is in a cast for 1 week, it is not a clean break... if it isnt fusing together then the doc wants to put pins in for another 4 weeks, does anyone know about this surgery? or how long this will take to heal? or how much the surgery costs without insurance?

I've heard of OLD WIVE'S TALES, but these two answers took the blue ribbon! I'm 30, a non-smoker(as if THAT has ANYTHING to do with your bones, spinal column or discs!) am muscular and not the LEAST BIT, not ONE ONCE OVERWEIGHT! I weigh 205, wear a size 17 1/2 shirt,my waist line is 33-34 inches, I split my tee shirts's sleeves if I'm not careful, so I think to be on the safe side, I'll go with a SCHOOL OF MEDICINE'S ANSWER and use the SPIRAL TENSION to help decompress my discs. The disease IS hereditary! Mine's progressed to nerve damage so I had to stop benching 300 lbs. That would SMART some to drop on my neck or chest. I've been a PROFESSIONAL BODYGUARD, so NO BAD HABITS, not even a DRINK!

In a few weeks I am going to be going in for an MRI for my knees. I have had pain and swelling in my knees for over 4 years now. I played soccer all through high school and now that i'm in college my physical activity has slowed a little. However my campus is HUGE and i walk probably 5 miles every day back and forth b/w classes and my dorm up and down stairs. are there any suggestions on what I should do prior to my MRI to help with the pain and swelling. I've tried everything for them, even quitting soccer for a year now sadly. Also what sorta of things are supposed to be done prior to an MRI (its in the afternoon)?? The doctors think something might be wrong with the tendons or ligaments and that I might need Physical Therapy.

I've been diagnosed with Frozen Shoulder. I never heard of this before i got it. I'm doing physical therapy exercises 3 times a day, and i'm in pain all the time. It's been like this for 4 months now, and i feel like i'm never going to get better. The exercises are helping a little, but i can see this is going to take forever to heal. Anybody got any other things that work for this??? Thanks :-)

She says she was feeling pretty good yesterday. But today she woke up and she can hardly move due to the pain I think. The pain is around her stomach and she can't sleep or eat. Has a loss of appetite. She also feels weak. Any ideas what might be wrong? Thanks.

I bought a firm bed- which I like for the support BUT I would like a pad that would be comfortable (since I am a side sleeper). I already know that softer beds are best for side sleepers BUT my ideal bed would be the combination of the two (extremely firm support with a soft top layer). If you know about mattresses then you're probably thinking I should've gotten a firm with a PILLOWTOP. But as you know, pillowtops (which become flat over time) are the worst things. Its best to get something that is removeable. So that brings me to my question...which is the best mattress pad that I can use with my firm bed?

I have an allsore (spelling?), and even though I can't stand the pain, I still always find my self pushing on it with my tongue. Why is this, I don't push in that spot when I don't have an allsore, so I was wondering if it's normal.

The thing is that i play a lot of sports like netball, football, hockey, etc and I xcan't do it as much because it hurts.Oh, and it started when I was about 8 - 10 years old and Im 14 now.

I have been getting horrible backaches in the bra line when I lean forward. If for instance we are dining out or I spend much time at the table when eating I will get that pain. I know it isnt caused from food. Yesterday I had my fingernails done and ending up spending about 2 hours not being able to sit up straight but leaning forward a bit. My back hurt so bad the rest of the day and night I could not get comfortable to even sleep. The pain is right in the bra line from the back and wraps around to the beginning of the breasts. Can anyone tell me what would cause this or what to do?

In virginia, Codeine is legal to purchase without a prescription, as long as the amount of codeine per dosage unit is within the legal limits for non-prescription sales. If you don't believe me, go to page 92 at the webpage "http://www.dhp.virginia.gov/pharmacy/leg/Pharmacy%20Law%202007-8-23-07.doc" and there's a paragraph explaining the rules about all that. The problem is, I have back aches sometimes that get fairly acute, but I can't keep going to the Doc everytime it happens... that costs money, and money is tight right now, and ibuprofen/ acetiminophen/ naproxen/ etodolac... all those don't work.. i've been prescribed those already seeing how they're not narcotics or whatnot.... Knowing that codeine can be sold w/o a prescription, i've tried asking pharmacies if i can purchase some, they all told me no. How can I convince them without looking like someone who's just trying to abuse the codeine instead of using it for actual pain?
