What has this day and age got to do with it? All that this day and age has brought us is OCD! Most people ´these days´ suffer some level of this as everyone cleans themselves and everything else far too much. a bit of dirt never hurt anyone, and unless you are washing your toothbrush in your pee and poop then what is the problem? You think the chemicals in the air from your cleaning fluid is any better for you? Hmm.....

Uh, smart people (who can afford it) have a separate room for the toilet. All the bathrooms in my house have a normal looking bathroom, except that the toilet is in it's own little enclosed cubby. So, I shower and brush my teeth in the same room, but my business is taken care of in a well ventilated (we call it a fart fan) cubby. It's like a small closet.
I think it's gross. Plus, my husbands morning routine involves a poop first, then he jumps in the shower. It's hygenic and all, buuuuuuut what if we had the typical bathroom? You;d think the smell would interfere with the feeling of cleanliness.

I am baffled. How can you have a pee in one corner while you are in the other corner cleaning your teeth. It is a human impossibility to be in two places at once.
Just joking.
It's called a bathroom. You do all personal things there.
Some have a toilet in another room.
I think plumbing has something to do with it. Pipes are easier to keep neatly together.

What on earth are you talking about?
As long as you wash your hands afterwards and keep the bowl clean then you could safely 'pee and plop' in the damn kitchen if you so desired.
Urine is actually sterile until it starts to decompose.
I actually have to clean people up at work then go for my lunch break.........but, of course I wash my hands so there's no problem.
You need to stop being so squeamish about normal bodily functions.

Actually in some countries, for example England, the toilet is placed in a separate room than the bath and sink. It makes more sense.

The world has moved on. Most modern houses have toilets in seperate rooms.
Buy a new house and all will be ok.

Haha that is an interesting way to look at it. My grandparents have a bathroom where the toilet is in it's own seperate closet-like room, and the sinks, shower, & bathtub are outside of it. (they have a lot of money)

Mmm? it's something I have a problem with. I never like the idea of toothbrushes etc all hanging around in the same room.

Not everyone does.
In lots of homes all over the world, the toilet is in a different room than the bathroom.
Makes sense, no?

This is why I always make sure to put the lid down before flushing. Yes it is disgusting but it is what it is. If the lid's down there shouldn't be a problem.
