Hi, i'm a nursing student and I'm writing a paper. Part of it is nursing diagnosis by priority. I need a little help deciding which would come first... the pt has bipolar disorder..

-a. risk for suicide related to depression associated with bipolar disorder as evidenced by feelings that his family can’t deal with him anymore and he feels like “everyone is shitting on me”,
b. risk for violence directed at others related to manic excitement as evidenced by agitated behaviors,
c. defensive coping related to an inadequate level of perception of control as evidenced by grandiosity and argumentative behavior,
d. chronic low self-esteem related to shame and impaired self-appraisal as evidenced by hypersensitivity to slights of criticism, and
e. impaired memory related to neurologic disturbance as evidenced by incidences of forgetting information caused by Electroconvulsive Therapy.

The " risk for" ones confuse me, because if it's not happening now... shoudl it be priority?

I get migranes that are brought on by stress. My doc gives me meds but I prefer something more natural. I do run quite a bit to relieve stress but eventually they come about anyway. Suggestions?

About 4 months ago I fell and hurt my left foot it was sore and aching for two weeks but I could limp on it but the pain left and it was walkable again. Now I have a pain on my calves when I shave my legs and a lump that feels like a bone that is small but isn't on the other foot and I feel were done when I fell.

I have been told by my 'foot specialist' that i have broken my small toe and it is a spiral fraction. He says I need a small surgery to put pins in it to camp the bone together, but i can move it, and it is getting better. Do you think i really need it? he says it will take about a year to heal properly?

But once I get up, the pain goes away for the rest of the day. (No history of knee problems.) For the past 20+ years they have always popped when I get out of bed, or get up from sitting for a while in a chair.
I have sleep apnea, do not use my CPAP regularly, and am currently being treated for lower back pain.

This type of aggrevation only happens when I sit at my desk at work all day - I get up and move about several times a day but the soreness and pain and headache are almost on a continual basis - how can I avoid this?

...the policy if you keep up the payments? Do you have to be approved as a new policy holder or can your previous status remain in place? If you had to be approved as a new policy holder, despite having been under the insurance before, could you be denied coverage for an existing medical condition, even though you received coverage for it when you were covered under your partner's plan? Has anyone had experience with this sort of situation?

I have been taking Feldene, an anti inflammatory & my ears have been pounding. It's called Pulsatile tinnitus & the dr. says no, it can't be from that. But I read a lot of type of anti-inflammatories can do this.
Anyone out there experience this ? Why do dr.'s cover this stuff up, are they so bound to the drug rep's for free stuff they would rather have a patient have side effects ?

My boyfriend has never been able to swallow pills and he's too stubborn to even try. One friday after eating alot his stomach hurt and i gave him two pepto-bismol pills. I had to cut them up into little pieces and then put them in water just so he could take them. I was thinking of getting like sugar pills or something so he could practice. He can't even do liquid pills. he taked tylenol liquid when he is sick, which isn't often, but he does get an upset stomach and headaches often. This is bad. He can't even swallow soft noodles whole!

How can i help him?

About once a month I get sharp pains in my stomach and I fill up with gas. I am unable to burb and it doesn't go out the other end when this happens either! So I just end up looking pregnant for a few hours. This really hurts and I have no idea what could be causing this. I eat healthy (no pop, junk food, never eat out, avoid sugar) What should I be avoiding? I coffee bad? What about pastas or breads? I really want to figure out how to control this. Anyone who suffers this too please let me know how you control this or stop it from happening.

I fell over nearly six weeks ago. At the time I thought I had just sprained my left foot and grazed my right knee. The sprain is healing fine but my knee has been getting worse. It showed bruises for a few days after the fall, they faded and I thought it was ok untill I knelt on it. The pain was excruciating and I didn't kneel down hard, fresh bruises appeared. This pattern has kept repeating ever since; the bruises heal, I'll brush the knee, there's pain bad enough to make me cry out and fresh bruises appear. Can anyone tell me what is going on please??
