How do i know the difference?
It seems especially since the weather has been getting worse taht certain joints have started to hurt more than ever...knuckles and my toes and sometimes my hip...how do i know if this is arthritis? my mother, grandmother, grandfather and a couple of aunts have arthristis, my mom since she was 13...

does anyone know the difference? all i know is that i am in pain...

My leg is weird. I'm talking about the backside of my knee on my left leg. You know how in the middle/ towards the inside of the leg, there is some sort of lump? It's a vein or artery or something. Whenever I am in health and we're talking about bones and ligaments breaking, when I see blood, and last week watching Grey's Anatomy, it feels funny. Almost hurting. I have to move it slightly up and down when it does that. What is wrong with me? Is it normal?

About 2 Nights ago i was laying down on a couch and i jumped up (i dont remeber why) and i hit my head on the ceiling. I fell to the ground and was crying because my head hurt SO badly. i took a motrin that night but the next morning i still had a headache. Ive benn continuing to take advil but nothing has helped. I am a little dizzy and a little nausus. Any help as of what i should do?

I was just diagnosed with degenerative disk disease, route nerve impingement, and arthritis in my back and I am in a significant amount of pain. The doctor gave me Motrin 600. It does nothing for my pain. He didn't give me any advice on how I can help my back. I tried to go to Urgent care and they turned me away. What do I do and why don't they care?

I am 36 years old and have suffered fro the last ten years or so.I get headaches that escalate so bad that i violently throw up and my head feels like it's gonna burst.My bp and pulse go up sky high.When they are severe like this i have to go to the ER where i am treated like a junkie,sometimes they dont treat me at all,they give me 2 ultram and tell me to go home and sleep.The few docs who do treat me give me iv fluids,for the pail they give me diiaudid and iv phenergan for the nausea.The pail is so intense it sometimestakes 2 shots of dilaudid to work.I am at my wits end,i.ve seen so many neuros,tried so many migraine meds,antidepressants,pretty much exhausted every option.I have seen several docs and they all seem to play the same recording.They all say narcotics are not the answer but what du you do when they are the only meds that work?I live in the MB area of S.C.knows a pain doc who aint afraid to do narcotic long term treatment for headaches,please tell me.(Please Help Me)

well it started a few weeks ago when my son stubbed his big toes and made them bleed his nails were still intact tho. now he is cryin that they hurt and he wont walk on them. they are red and warm and look very sore. the nails are still there but they have started to curl up and come away from the skin. what can i do is there anything i can do to ease the pain? ?

i went to the hospital like 3 times for it and i had a sinus infection so on the 3rd vistet to the hospital they did a cat scan and found out i have concha bullosa and i might have to have surgery on it in the mean time ive been haveing pain now the hospital put me on pain meds vicodin works for about 2 hours then the pain comes back. now i havent seen my regular doctor but iam going tomorrow to tell him and show him my paper work on the catscan my doctor should be able to give me pain meds for it right cause sometimes i get bad pain in my nose and eye until i get my nose fixed

apparently i have a really arched back....i dont suffer from any pain and i didnt even notice it myself. Ive been doing ballet for years and so i have a good posture. Im going to the doctors soon but im confused and a little scared - is anything wrong?

What's the good and bad points about back surgery?
I'm considering 3 alternatives. 1. Steroid injections for as long as they'll work 2. Spinal Fusion 3. Disk replacement

Can anyone give me some really good points on the pros and cons of each decision? I'm really all over the place in what to decide. I'm afraid of steroids and the quick fix and brittle bones but I'm also afraid of surgery. So which is the lesser of 2 evils?

Please be as specific as you can with personal experiences if you can and I'm not interested in Chiropractic care so please just stay with those options. Such a hard decision for me!

I was just bitten by a spider. I live in melbourne australia. The spider was black, all black and as big a 50 cent piece. It had no markings on it. It was just a black spider. I dont feel anything just a little bit of stinging at the site. Can anyone tell me if this spider is poisonous and if i should be worried. (only cause i am home alone with my 9 month old son with no way to a hospital, so i sort of need to know whether someone knows if this spider is posinous or not.

My wife is hypertensive for the past 5 yrs, sadly she had a moderate stroke 10 days ago. Her right side (arm and leg) disabled and her speech got affected too. Have just brought her home from hospital yesterday. Continuous Rehab therapy was recommended by the doctor. Pls give me good exercise or advice for the fast recovery of my loved one! Thanks so much!

so you know when you're sick and you feel light headed and underwater all day? so i was sick 2 years ago and i felt light headed and odd for a week. like that feeling when you first wake up in the morning, kinda dazzed. but ui got better and still felt light headed and dazzed for a few more weeks then a few more months. so i went ot the doctor and they said i'm probly sleeping to muhc or not getting enough sleep. so i tried getting 8 hours of sleep for a week. didn't help. 9 hours didn't help. then i was going to try 11 or 10 but that nade it worse cause i slept too muhc. i got tested for mano but they said i don't have it. i'vebeen feeling so dazzed that i've questioned myself a few times if i was actually dreaming even though i was aawake.

ughh what could it be im sick of wasting my life living in an odd daze not knowing completly what's going on.

i had this weird blister like thing in my ear. i accidentally popped it and its been sore for the past couple of days. my ear is red but its basically totally new to me and i have no idea about whats going on. by the way, its not like thick skin but like really thin and was like when your skin peels due to sun burn.

i've taken voltaren sr 100mg, 3 times a day and before, it reacts fast to ease off the pain and the swelling. but right now i've taken voltaren sr for almost 4 days and the pain and swelling is still there, with a little improvement on the pain.

I read on wikipedia that having scoliosis can cause you to have nose bleeds.

"Muscle tightness as caused by scoliosis (the tightened muscles cause blood vessels to become constricted, resulting in nosebleeds from the same side as the tightened muscles)."-Wikipedia

But because it is wikipedia I want someone to confirm to me that this is true. I have mild scoliosis and sometimes i have nose bleeds for no good reason.

I also want to know is there any over the counter drugs that can help me with my back pain.

My girlfriend has just started taking Levaquin on Friday for a UT infection. Since last night shes been dizzy and had a headache. Her Dr.s office is closed untill monday morning. Should she stop taking it or wait till she can talk to someone on monday?

I have popping, crunching sounds comming from my left wrist when I bend it up and down. I don't have any swelling but pain. It hurts to bend it upward. And the weird part is that when I bend downward there is this bump that comes up (the bump is like where my arm meets my wrist, right in the middle). I have had this pain for several months and I went to the doctor and she told me I had DeQuiverians, but I think she is wrong since my wrist hurts, not my thumb. I will be going back to the doc but wanted some opinoins. Is this a sprain or something else?

we're in melbourne, fla and my husband was stung by a bee or wasp while in a nursery. I pulled the long black stinger out and ever now, several hours later after icing it feels like a fist at the site. A totally new response to a sting. What might it have been?
