I have popping, crunching sounds comming from my left wrist when I bend it up and down. I don't have any swelling but pain. It hurts to bend it upward. And the weird part is that when I bend downward there is this bump that comes up (the bump is like where my arm meets my wrist, right in the middle). I have had this pain for several months and I went to the doctor and she told me I had DeQuiverians, but I think she is wrong since my wrist hurts, not my thumb. I will be going back to the doc but wanted some opinoins. Is this a sprain or something else?

With De-Q you really dont have thumb pain per se but pain at wrist area, possibly base of thumb/wrsit area,,radial side(same side as thumb)..cup your thumb with fingers(making a fist) and try and bend hand downwards..ie pinky going towards the floor..called finklestiens test..if you have pain at wrist area thats DE-Q...if you have a bump coming up on back of wrist, that might be ganglion cyst.

take two tongue depressors and pad them with cotton gauze and tape. Place one on best and backside of your wrist with one finish within the center of your palm. The different stick will have to be correct under your knuckles . Wrap with a two inch huge ace bandage .This will preclude you from being competent to flex or bend your wrist up and down. Leave it there for no less than three-four days. After ward eliminate the sticks however depart it wrapped for a couple of extra days to support aid the now nearly healed muscle. as soon as all of the anguish is long gone with out anguish meds watch out as as soon as injured muscle tissues are much more likely to reinjure

Hey skibum. You definitely need a new doc. You are correct, what you describe is NOT DeQuervain's disease (stenosing tenosynovitis).

You may want to see both an Orthopedic or Physical medicine specialist and your family Chiropractor for a more 'relevant' diagnosis.

Best wishes and good luck.

You have a misaligned wrist bone, most likely a posterior misaligned lunate. I recommend you see a chiropractor to have to corrected and realigned.
