I fell over nearly six weeks ago. At the time I thought I had just sprained my left foot and grazed my right knee. The sprain is healing fine but my knee has been getting worse. It showed bruises for a few days after the fall, they faded and I thought it was ok untill I knelt on it. The pain was excruciating and I didn't kneel down hard, fresh bruises appeared. This pattern has kept repeating ever since; the bruises heal, I'll brush the knee, there's pain bad enough to make me cry out and fresh bruises appear. Can anyone tell me what is going on please??

Go to a Dr. Most injuries take along time to heal don't take it for granted elavate and ice it, also try to stay off of it. If it doesn't feel better in another week go to Dr. for sure.

It sounds like you could have fractured the patella. The best thind to do is get an xray of the knee (they usually do three different views of it) and see if it is broken. Best to get it checked out, because if it doesn't properly heal it could cause arthritis later on.

You may have torn your ACL or other muscle, tendon or ligament. Go see your Dr. He will order the proper tests and give you any medication he deems appropriate.
