General Health Care - August 2007

Hi im 16 years old and i am not sure what it was but i got a deep huge cut like hole between my leg and testicle. Im pretty sure it was a pimple but they after it "popped" if left a huge hole that really hurt a lot. Its not healing cuz im guessing it doesnt get any oxygen since my leg and private part are covering it. I already told my parents and they kinda freeked out cuz they saw it. Do u think it wil heal or am i going to get it stitch. im really scared. =/

I recently had a sprained left knee... Walking on the knee doesnt hurt anymore but I cannot bend my knee all the way. My knee is either still a little swollen OR has fluid in it. I believe that it has fluid in it.

I just want to know if I cant bend my snee because of the "swollen" or "fluid filled" knee?

PLEASE DONT TELL ME TO GO TO THE DOCTER BECAUSE I WILL BE GOING. I WILL BE GOING TO THE DOCTORS ANYWAY...

Not to make this question all about me...but it is. Just a word to all of you annoying anti-smoking people who like spitting out those facts that we have all heard so many times, please don't post anything. I know that it can be very bad for you. Anyways, I smoke American Spirit regular, but I am not the kind of smoker that smokes a pack a day. I don't "need" cigarettes, but it is nice to have them. A pack of cigarettes can last me maybe 2 and half weeks. I have also been rolling cigarettes out of pipe tobacco, and smoke in the same manner. I have been thinking about getting a Denicotea filter system when I get my Perique blend. My main question was about perspective. Compared to other smokers, If I continue on this regimen or let it have a subtle increase, where do you think my health will be heading.

1.Has anyone used this for the prevention of migraines?
2.Was it a good choice for you? Why? Why not?

3.If you end up have terrible side effects do you still have to WEAN yourself off of it while enduring the bad effects?
4.What would happen if you quit cold turkey?
5.If it works and you don't have problems do you have to take it indefinately to keep the migraines away?
6.Is there anything else out there that is better but will prevent migraines?

I was given samples for Imitrex but I'm not sure if I should try it. Maybe I have a high pain tolerance, maybe it's not a migraine. I don't know when a migraine is starting or if it even is a migraine.
I have one right now and I don't know what to do. I've had if for hours and hours. I need help.
I really really need help.
Any advice on Imitrex and migraines/headaches is much appreciated.

? I have a problem and sure hope you can give me some advice on how to make things better. I started a job about 2 months ago, working in fast food. I haven't worked in over 2 years, and thats when the pain first started. I have always had back problems from strains to bruised muscles. So every time I sit or lie down I get pain in the front of my thighs. My back hurts so bad at times I can barley walk, so I try to rest and then my thighs hurt so bad. It kinda feels like a cramp that sting and burn. I have to rub my thigh very hard to finally make it stop. Sometimes it;'s like I can't rub it hard enough, so I have to have hubby do it for me. It doesn't matter if I am sitting upright or lieing down the minute I am off my feet it hits me untill I stand up and walk for a minute. Which sometimes can be just as bad with my back pain that shoots down my legs. Can you please help on what I can do to relieve the pain????

I've had a severe chronic migraine headache that has lasted for the last 8 months that has been one continuous, unremitting headache, not individual headaches that occur every day. I am disabled as a result of this (something all of my doctors have concurred with) and have tried every single preventative and abortive there is with no success, along with tons of alternatives like acupuncture. To make matters worse, I recently contracted Lyme Disease, which has been adding it's own painful and debilitating effects.I vomit at least twice a day, and I have hypertension. But I am 15, so this means that often what I say to the doctors is just ignored.The only medication that has actually helped me has been oxycodone and hydromorphone.But when I went to the pain management clinic at Boston Children's Hospital, I went through a 5 hour process to be told try to exercise and try relaxation.I almost cried.

P.S. The most recent studies on opioids show they're MUCH safer than commonly believed.

I had a pretty intensive ankle surgery less than 2 weeks ago. I am in a cast and was recently given a refill on my pain prescription. My old prescription was Percocet 5-325MG. My new prescription is Percocet 10-325MG. Would this make my new prescription stronger? Please advise and thank you so much in advance.

Lately I have been having trouble sleeping and
i think stress is causing it but it could be something more. It usely happens on the nights I work and I make sure to wind down and take a hot relaxing bath before I go to sleep. I have no problem getting to sleep but the past month and it has happened before, I wake up at least three or more times a night and think I am at work, so I think it could be something like sleep-walking cause I do get up and walk out of my room then I realize I am at home. I can get back to sleep easily but then I will get back up. Does anyone have an idea if this is just stress or If it could be something serious and I need to see a doctor.

I have been having small, non-painful, just extrememly irritating muscle twitches in my head, just where my hair is, and mostly around the back of my right ear. What causes these? hello to you all......whta going on is that about 4 weeks ago my right shoulder went to huring me now it wont stop i did go to the Dr. he made an x ray said everything look ok gave me some pain pills.......but i hurt in my arm as well sometimes down to my hand....... at night its so hard to sleep because i wake up hurting my left arm i can bring all the way up until i touch my ear with it but in no way can i do the right one like that....it hurts to lay on my right side sometimes it just hurts if i try to put my arm around my daughter. this pain now is everyday of my life........please help me whats going on here with me i am 45 years old i need your help please tell me what you know are what you think what has happen.......oneday my dog just jump up on me and with him doing that it hurt so bad until i had tears in my eye's...........please please help me
