I know I grind my teeth. I have strange headaches around the back of my ears. It hurts to press on that area. Sometimes the temples hurt too. Is this from grinding my teeth at night or something else? Does that mouthgard thingy help to avoid the headaches?

Sometimes when i bend my left knee it hurts on the bottom. About once a week, it jams and I fall on the floor, unable to move because it hurts so badly. When this happens, it takes like 4 minutes to unjam and hurts all the way. I dont know what happened, as I am only 13. I have only hurt my leg once, when I was 8, because I fell out of my window. My mom (who used to be a nurse) said that I would have started expieriencing pain earlier then 13 if it had to do with falling out of my window. I dont know what to do, do you have any ideas of what is up with my knee? I have stress related problems, like bruxism (i grind my teeth in my sleep) but I dont know if that is related. Thank you.

A wasp sting I received less than 24 hours ago has caused my hand to swell up like a baseball mitt, with a good deal of pain in the extended swelling region. A 24-hour ready-care doctor told me to keep taking benadryll and gave me an Rx for cephalexin (500mg), an antibiotic.

OK. I'm not a biological genius (I'm actually an environmental engineer), but I know that sting poison works by injecting heavy poisons that your body reacts to. This is not bacteria, so I do not understand why he would give me an antibiotic. There are NO open wounds or sores, so I just can't see how the swelling is a bacterial infection.

Is this guy a quack or what? Shouldn't he have given me some steroid or something to control the swellng?

When I was in high school I dropped a weight bar on my thighs while standing and rolled off my kneecaps, and it didn't injure me that badly or hurt that badly, but since then my knees seem to grind when squatting or climbing stairs. Is there anything to do to take care of your joints?

In January my foot started hurting pretty bad. I was limping and everything. I went to the Doctor and they sent me for an x-ray and it showed nothing. So they sent me to Podiatrist. He sent me for an x-ray and nothing showed. He sent me for another x-ray and nothing showed. Well then he sent me for an MRI and it showed a stress fracture on the 2nd metatarsal.

All of this happened from February through April. I forgot to mention though that about 3 weeks after it started hurting so much I noticed a red sore appeared on the top of my foot, right above where it was hurting. It scabbed over and the scab fell off about a week later (this is like beg-mid february) well I can still see where the sore was. Also, the pain went down by quite a bit. I could walk without limping but it still hurt to move my toes. I told the Podiatrist and he said that was a little unusual but that it was probably just a blood clot the burst and came to the top.

Well when the MRI showed a stress fracture he put me in an Air Boot and now I have been in it for 4 weeks. Also, the other day I had another one of those red sores appear. I go back to the doc on tuesday.

Is a stress fracture supposed to take this long to heal? Do you think the doctor is doing the right thing?

All this time it has been swollen too. I am starting to get a little worried that it is taking too long. Thanks for any advise or help you can give me.
