I did the exact same thing to the far right metatarsel of my right foot. I jumped for a header and i landed on the side of my foot and it sort of cracked. I was in agony all day and i couldn't stand. If the pain hits you that bad i suggest you go to A and E for an Xray. Better to be safe than sorry. I was in a pot for a few months, that's all.

Take it easy today on that foot. You very well may have a break. If it were a sprain it would have swollen already, but sometimes a break doesn't show it's true colors for several hours. Elevate it, ice it down. You also may have had a couple bones out of alignment that popped back, but just for today, prop it up and baby yourself. Ice cream helps as does popcorn and a funny movie. Should it swell or turn terribly bruised, then you may want ot see a doc. Meanwhile wrap it firmly ( but not overtight, ice it, prop it up and baby yourself.)

I broke that area of my foot and was in agony. I was in shock, shaking and freezing cold and everything. It also swelled up really quickly. Although you don't have many symptoms, I think it would be best to get it checked out.

Foot injuries and breaks are common in that ara of the foot. Watch to see if there is any discoloration occuring. If so, I would go get it checked out.

If you have fracture, you don't necessary need to have much, if any, redness and swelling. You should definitely get it checked out!
