I woke up with it hurting.

apply a heating pad to your neck for fifteen minutes. Afterwards massage an analgesic cream into your neck. Wait ten minutes then apply ice pack for ten minutes. Repeat this often throughout the day. This will help relax the muscles and take down inflammation.

Also take Advil tablets three times a day.

Be sure you sleep on your back to cause less stress on the Neck.

It will stop hurting after a while, it is probably just the way you slept on it...nothing much you can do but wait it out.
