I crushed a vertabrae in a car accident 11 yrs ago. At the time I was a very immature 18yo who had too much pride. I didn't go to my routinue check ups and now 11 yrs later I am dealing with pain but the doctors office that I went to when this happened said it's too late and I am not able to see this doctor. What options do I have?

I have a problem with my scalp. My skin is very dry and I am not sure if it is dandruff or maybe somehting serious. The flakes are out of control. When I wash my hair it is okay until it dries. I also have scabs on my scalp sometimes. This is very embarassing. No dandruff shampoos seem to help me. Do you have any suggestions? I am really thinking about seeing a doctor.

I just noticed this the other day... My right arm doesnt swing when I walk. Im pretty sure that it use to. I have been working out and weight lifting for about 6 months. Im female so I havent bulked up or anything, just toned up and my left arm swings just fine. Is this weird or what? I also noticed about 9 months ago that when I roller skate I have a hard time keeping my balance on me left leg, so I never move it when I skate(ice skate or roller skate). I dont know... Im probably worrying over nothing... but I just thought it was weird. Let me know if you know what it is. Thanks.

I had shingles in 2003 and it caused nerve damage (phn). I take about four or five 5mg doses of methadone a week to control the intense pain in the trigeminal nerve in my face. I am afraid of becoming addicted to this drug. Loritab does me no good at all. Has anyone had this experience. I have a physician that will prescribe methadone but I would really like to get away from it and him. My family physician can write lesser painkillers but I absolutely don't know which way to go. Are pain management doctors usually effective?

I think I'll probably get a lot of answers like "if you ask, then you are...", but here are the details.

I usually drink a couple of beers or a couple of shots each night when I get home from work. I never feel like I "have" to take that drink, it is just something that I do. I have gone months without drinking, and I never have the "shakes", and I never stress getting drunk, but when I'm home I like to drink.

And I've never woken up and taken a drink "to get through the day", or to cure a hangover.

I have no problem being the designated driver, but if I am, I usually have a couple of drinks when I get home even if my wife goes to bed. I've noticed this habit between me and my wife. Regardless of what the drink is, be it wine, beer or whiskey, we usually have a couple of drinks every day.

Is this the sign of an alcoholic, or is this just a bad habit that we've formed over the years?

Three days ago, after dancing most of the night, I came home and stood on a chair to get something off a high shelf. I stepped down on my right leg and felt something pop in my left knee. It was very similar to the feeling I had when I tore the cartiladge in that same knee 11 years ago, but in a different spot. That tear on the lower right side of my knee. This injury is across the top central area of my knee. I didn't seem to have any problems the day it happened nor most of the next day. I actually walked around quite a bit. However, it popped getting into and out of the taxi going home that night. Since then it has been stiff. It doesn't like to bend and when it does, it pops. Sometimes it feels like there is pressure across the top of my knee and other times it feels like I have put a heat rub on it when I have not. The doctor, who did not touch my knee, but only x-rayed it said it's osteoarthritis. I have doubts. However, I don't speak Chinese so it's difficult for me

I have been struggling with kidney stones for the past year and have been on loritabs 7.5 for a year. I have had surgery but I keep developing new stones . I take on average 6-7 a day. When I am out of pain and don't need these anymore is the w/draw going to be awful or is the does low enough that i'll be able to taper myself off?

i am currently 40 weeks pregnant. two weeks ago, i was walking down the stairs, missed the last one & twisted my ankle so bad. i heard it crack like ten times. for a couple of days i was limping on it. it hurt like hell to walk. when i went to the doctors i was told it was just sprained really bad & the only thing i can do is put ice on it.

it turned black & blue. all over the place. on the top of my foot, on the sides. & it has been swollen ever since. it is now two weeks later, last night, my ankle & foot were swollen so bad, i couldn't even bend my ankle or toes. it was huge.

what is wrong with me, shouldn't it be healed by now??
