Silica!

Also found as silicea. You can find it at your local health food store in capsule, tablet or liquid forms. You can get it in mineral or plant based (Spring Horsetail) formulas.

Expect to take it regularly for at least 3 months before you will see the results - the old nail need to grow out.

The bonus is that silica will also benefit your hair and skin!

Found a good page for you with things like: "Get the essential fatty acids that strengthen nails by taking flaxseed oil, says Julian Whitaker, M.D., founder and president of the Whitaker Wellness Center in Newport Beach, California. It comes in capsule or liquid form, and Dr. Whitaker says to follow the dosage recommendations on the label.Flaxseed oil is available in most health food stores."

i have a friend who has the same problem like yours. She had to apply this clear liquid, like a nail polish made of collagen.. it made her nails a lot stronger and less breakage.
