that I cannot work. I've done pain management, various Rx treatment regimens and still after almost 30 years, I cannot find relief. What has worked for you? Or, what are you aware of that I might suggest to my neurologist? Thanks.

At this moment i am at a state of emergency, I got my ears pierce last saturday. Everything was fine till now, I woke up an saw that my one of my earrings were missing, my left ear is fine, but right ear wasn't i saw that the earring in my right ear wasn't there but stuck in my ear, now im panicking cause its not coming out, i called my friend she said that i should soak it in the antiseptic and twirl it till it come out, but its hurt but not much, the problem is that i think that the swelling is preventing from it to come out, and this is in my lower lobe which i had pierced, because when i was younger the person whom did my ears had it the middle, so now i took the other one out so it won't happen. Now i am in panic mood..Do i have to go to the hopstial to be removed, or should i continue putting the antiseptic and twirling it to come out.

A few years ago I had severe sciatica and MRIs showed that I had bulges or tears in a couple of lumbar discs. A couple of days ago, I was doing a forward stretch in yoga and since then I've had some pain, but only when I get up from a seated position and at certain movements. The pain is very mild and I have not felt the need for medication or have not curtailed my activities, except for not doing all the exercises I usually do. But I am getting pins and needles (paresthesia) on the bottom of one foot, which probably indicates sciatic nerve involvement.

However, when I had sciatica in the past, I had severe pains in my leg. I have no pain there now.

I am not insured right now and want to know if I can just rest and the herniated disc will heal or if I must have medical care if the symptoms do not worsen. (I do understand that cauda equina syndrome symptoms are a medcal emergency.)

Can I get away with not seein a doctor? Should I stop exercising and stretching?

I was sitting crosse-legged on bed and left ankle popped and had intense pain for next few minutes. After pain dulled, I stood and ankle feels stable but 24 hours later is still sore and I'm limping. no swelling or bruising. I haven't injured it but I'm on my feet from 5am until 11pm daily as a nurse and mom of 3 kids. I have arthritis and hx of knee injuries with surgery. This popping/pain thing happens with my knees but never with ankles before. any ideas?

So this is the second time this has happened, i woke up one morning feeling like there was a cloud or something covering my ear. In addition to this I have a sore throat and i feel like i could toss my cookies. a few people believed i might have a sinus infection or allergies, so i took some sinus medicine and it has done nothing to help. in fact, i feel extrememly drowsy, my legs are weak, and i feel even more naseous. Does anybody know what this might be and what i should do to feel better?

I sprained by ankle at Basketball practice yesterday. It's a bad sprain. I completely rolled it when coming down from a rebound. The pain has not gone away any since but some of the swelling is down. Now it's just as big as a que ball. I'm on cructches and it's wrapped. Im following Dr's orders and doing the RICE thing; Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. I'm also taking 600 mgs. of Motrin every 6 hrs. for the pain. If there is no change by tomorrow I have to go back and they'll check for a Fracture. I think it's just a severe sprain though. What the Dr. didn't tell me was how long it would be before I can participate in practice and get back into the games. Our schedule ends in Feb. and I want to play!! How long do you think I'll be out???

Last night I went to bed at 12:30 and woke up at 10:30 today and I feel exhausted still. This is very common. I'll get 8-10 hours of sleep and still wake up ridiculously tired. Ive tried going to bed at the same time, controlling light exposure (dark at night, light in morning), and relaxing for 30 minutes before bed. I fall asleep fast and typically stay asleep at night. I do not believe that I snore (I have my tonsils and adnoids removed). My sleeping environment is quiet. Everything SHOULD be ok for me to get a good night's rest. If I get 10 hours of sleep, I should be jumping out of bed ready to run a marathon but, instead, I have to drag myself out. Finally, when I want to wake up early, I sabotage myself in my half awakened state when my alarm goes off early and turn it back 30-60 minutes and not realize this until after I wake up (late).

Other than drugs - what do you do to deal with it?

I remind myself of ways that I'm lucky or blessed, and I try to keep my mind occupied on other things - boys, usually ;) And foot baths! My feet aren't hurting or anything, but it's just really comforting for some reason.

Any other suggestions? Things you think about? Breathing exercises?

I have a 12 yr old son on strattera. The med- does not seem to be working.I'm not dr. but i dont want to put him threw this medication and threw that medication. He has trouble at school with his grades,he says he cant sit in his chair for the length of time, and is always messing with other children and not paying attention when he is supposed to. I have 3 other children, He runs circles oround them, i have a four yr old that cant handle him, and i thought it should be the other way, where my four yr old is running circle's oround him.He has to be told several times to get on with his homework and to do his chores, he does have rules to follow. He is a child that needs more attention than my others do.He is a very very hyper child and his attention span his short. So im not sure if he needs to be on these medication or its just somthing eles.any advice would be great.
