I know that there is a food additive called, "Natural Smoke Flavor" that's used to give a smoke flavor to some cheeses and other foods. I know from nutrition studies that Natural Smoke Flavor is derived from Formaldehyde (you know like embalming fluid) but the food processors went to the FDA and complained that if they have to show a formaldehyde derivative on the ingredient label, no one will buy the product. So could they call it Natural Smoke Flavor and the FDA said, "APPROVED".

Or can they also be skin color? My 5 yr old son has come down with something suddenly...rash over most of his body, but it's not red. It really itches, and I'm not sure what the cause is. He hasn't eaten anything out of the ordinary or done anything else out of the ordinary. I at first thought that it might be some kind of heat rash, but we live in Utah and it's been cool and rainy lately. Any suggestions? I have given him benedryl type medicine to help with the itch.

that got me wondering. if she has to have an operation, would she only be given a paralytic agent, or would anestesia to make her go to sleep be given, as well?

I seem to get sore throats pretty often. I'm a fit person, I eat generally healthy foods, I don't smoke or drink heavily, yet I still get sore throats. Not to mention, when I get them, they last for a long time. I had one this summer that lasted for 4 weeks, no joke! I can come up with no reason as to why I get them. I've been to doctors, and they tell me nothing.

I'm been wondering if its possible that the sore throats are caused by my tonsils. I know some people have them removed at a young age, or later in life. Would getting them removed help me out? Anyone have any sources which link sore throats as a direct effect of 'bad' tonsils?

Recently I was involved in an accident in Thailand. A small piece of metal entered my forearm. The piece of metal was removed (about the size of a quarter), luckily I did not break any bones or tear any tendons.
Although the wound is small (about the size of a nickel or quarter) it is a nasty one. If I move my wrist I can see my tendon moving.

It has been 3 weeks since the accident and it still isn't completely healed.
I am getting my medical care here in thailand. For a wound this small, I have to go to the hospital daily to get it cleaned (which is getting tedious!).

It did get infected at one point but is much better now and seems to be recovering.

I feel three weeks is too long for a wound of this size. What do you think?

I been thinking if I had gotten care in the US it would have healed by now. Since I am going to a government hospital here, I believe they are a little backwards.

I would appreciate it if medical professionals only answer this question.

When it's a little bit cold my toes, nose, tops of ears and fingers go bright bright red or purple, sometimes blue.
Why do they do that?
I'm the only one it happens to. :-(
All my friends stay a normal color.
