OH wow i never seen that or heard about it myself but, i can see where it would have good and bad points of course too it. Wouldn't it be great to go through life pain free? Some people would give anything to be like her but, on the other hand it is kinda bad due to the fact that pain is allot of the time the only way we know when something is wrong with us it is like a warning sign. So its kinda fifty fifty to me.

They would still put her under for any surgery or any other procedure that would call for anestesia.
Even though she can not feel pain the bodies responce to the trauma of surgery would be the same IE: shock etc..
There are only about 100 people with CIPA--a rare condition. CNN did a story on a real life 5 yr old with CIPA and her parents have a .org site with information.

Is Grey's the show you were watching? I've seen two shows that talk about this condition. Grey's and Strong Medicine. I preferred the strong medicine version better.
I was actually thinking about this after grey's last night. It would seem to me like they would do anesthesia just in case something did happen. It's a non-medical opinion but that's what i think.

I'm no medical professional but I would assume they would treat her just like anyone else. Besides, if she was still small and had to have an operation, I'm sure her parents would want her to be out so it wouldn't cause her any mental trauma

I saw about that also, I was just wondering how would it feel not to be able to feel pain, if you can't feel pain you will never know when to see a doctor if you are sick or hurt. Just think about it, you could die because you can't feel how sick you are.
