I suggest that you use ice packs for pain and swellling, about 20 minutes should do.. Then use moist heat (a simple home remedy i have used is a wet towel heated in the microwave for a couple minutes will do the trick). the moist heat will help relax tense muscles and pain.... If your pain doesn't get any better or even gets worse after a couple days, I suggest you go get an X-ray and/or an MRI. Hope you feel better soon.

Did you get X-rays to make sure nothing is fractured. An ER will get X-rays and usually send you home with a narcotic like Vicodin, which will make the pain tolerable. If you don't go to an ER take Motrin each pill is 200mg if taking over the counter, if you weigh about 100-150 pounds take 3 pills every 6 hours. 150-200 take 4 pills every 6 hours. Just make sure to take with food and not on an empty stomach.

All you did was burse you tail bone it may hurt right now but it will go away. I know it is easy to say that I need a pill for the pain but try something else. Like…this may sound weird but massage it. I found that with any burse if you massage it, then it will help it heal faster or you could try putting ice on it to numb it.

It is not unusual to have the coccyx dislocate in a prat fall. Rarely picked until years later when the pain does not subside. This even occurs. during child-birth.. Causing much distress to other contents held up by the pubo/coccygeal sling...
