STDs - June 2007

I was diagnosed with genital warts roughly 8 weeks ago(after I had my first outbreak), and was prescribed Aldara 5% cream to be applied 3 times a week at bedtime and wash off in the morning when i woke up.

I have a 12 pack, that should last 12 weeks. I have applied the cream for 7 weeks now and have still yet to see any wartz disappearing. Is this normal? If so, how long does it take to start working?

Also, I've noticed for the past 2 weeks a bit of a rash down there on both sides of my scrotum. Should I be worried? Or is this normal with the cream.

Please, some great feedback from a medical person would be great. I have been so stressed because of this lately.

Thank you

I recently had intercourse with my "long distance girlfriend," and after less than 5-7 minutes she told me she had to stop because she was feeling sore. She was quick to tell me its because we haven't done it for a while. We haven't had intercourse for almost a month so that part was true, but I thought the vagina usually gets sore from constant intercourse. Or can it be a medical condition?

My girlfriend and I are not sexually active. We have never had sex and we believe in abstinence until married. However we do a few small things such as petting and physical things. No oral either. She is the only one i've done things like this with and i'm the only one for her also. Well I noticed my hand kinda has a slight fishy smell, not terrible but slight, after we have done a few things. I know this could be a sign of BV but to me that gets ruled out because:
-She is an extreme hygiene freak. Stays very clean
-She eats extremely healthy and drinks lots of water(salads, lean chicken, etc.)
-She's not sexually active(and i've read that BV is extremely rare if one is not active)
-She does not douche
-She stays very fit(running every day, she dances alot, and weighs merely around 115)

To me all this rules out BV so is it maybe just her natural odor?

Just like aids is passed down to children, is the same true with genital herpes? And if the answer is yes, then isnt it inevitable that everyone will eventually be diagnosed with genital herpes, since about 1/3 of the population today already has it?

i was diagnosed about 2 years ago and have not had ANY reoccurances...no itching no burning nothing!! I don't know how reliable the lab that did my work was because i've heard that they've missed things with other people. just wondering if i should go get retested.

ps i'm not doing suppressive theropy either, and still no symptoms...what would you do??

Been to the hospital today and the doctor told me it looked like an std, however, i am married and dont think my husband would do anything.
These symptoms came after sex.
I have pus on my cervix, greenish/pink/yellow discharge, and pain in my back. she said my cerix was imflamed and it didnt look to good. and she was hard on about STDs. but no test came back yet. she said she knows what the human anatamy is and its not supoised to look like that when I asked if anything else can cause it besides std.

has anyone had any experience like that and it wasnt an std?

My friend has Genital warts. He went to the store and bought wart medicine ( the kind you put on your finer, or knee) and applied it to his penis. Apparently the warts fried and fell off. I don't think this was a good idea...what could happen? Infection?

I've never engaged in any kind of sexual act with another person, I'm still a VIRGIN. The only thing I've ever done is masturbate and that has always been alone. This isn't anything recent, it didn't just show up, but I'm still confused as to what it might be.

Basically, I'm circumsized and it is right where all the wrinkly skin is on the bottom of my shaft. When it is all wrinkly, it looks like it is just one big something. Doesn't hurt, looks like the rest of my skin, but it is barely raised compared to the surronding skin. However, I can literally stretch it apart and when I do that it just looks like a single bump. If I mess with it too much it gets irritated and turns red.

Any ideas?

I do not have insurance and want to try something over-the-counter to get rid of genital warts. They are all external. Any advice?

Hi Guys, I just had a bladder infection, and so my doctor put me on antibiotics, but now its kinda itchy down there, not meaning to sound gross or anything. If I had an STD wouldn't it have went away while on the antibiotics?

Can genital warts be caused by the same virus that causes warts on the restof your body? I had wrote a message a few days ago about my husband possibly having gw's and I got no response. Turns out he does have genital warts and he did cheat on me, but he says it was only oral sex. On top of all the problems that arose from all of this I feel very let down. I now possibly have HPV because of no fault of my own. We have been together for 7 years - never once had I ever thought this would be how things would come to be. I have so many questions. I know the possibilty of me having it is very very large, and this is concerning. If you have HPV- can you ever have unprotected sex again? Can I ever give him oral sex? Weither or not we stay together is besides the point right now, but if we were to be together, Could we ever have a normal sexual realtionship- If I do not have the virus? And if I do have HPV Can I continue to have sex with him and not comprimise ourselves to larger breakouts? And if we must have protected sex- Is there a way for us to conceive besides artificially? But, I do need to know if there is a way these could not be the sexually transmitted GW"S or if such a thing exsists. My husband has had a very large problem with warts on his body since I met him 7 years ago, His hands arms legs everywhere. he recently had a breakout on his hand which spread to his arm. He also has 3 warts on his pubic area. It seems to me all these bumps just popped up out of nowhere. The doctor did send home a information sheet that said genital warts were caused by the same virus that causes warts on the rest of the body. If this is true, and the genital warts that are caused by this are in fact cntagious, Wouldn't this mean anyone with a wart could give HPV to anyone they touched? I'm very confused, hurt and alone. I appreciate any feedback I can get.

I got a tattoo. I know the guy used a brand new clean needle but im not sure that he sterilized the tube. he gave a tattoo to someone with aids a few days before me. Is it possible blood could've gotten inside the tube and somehow on to the needle and then infected me?
