I personally have genital herpes and have had it for over 6 years.

I have never had a guy run away screaming or anything after I told them I had the virus (and yes, I told them before we did anything sexual). They were all really nice and really understanding about it, including my current fiance.

I even dated a guy for a little while who also had genital herpes.

If you really care for the person you can usually look past the virus (this doesn't go for everyone though). But, if you can't stand the fact that you might contract the virus from them, then don't date them. It's as simple as that.

You could date them but I would caution highly against sex. Love comes and goes. Herpes is FOREVER. There is no cure for herpes and even treatments are sometimes unreliable in certain patients. As you grow up, you'll date a lot of people but putting yourself knowingly in harm's way would be a really, really bad idea. Read up on the symptoms of herpes and see if you think it's worth the eventual/potential risk that dating could possibly lead to sex. Just like the Valtrex commercial says, 'There is no SAFE sex with someone who has the herpes virus. Even when there is no visible outbreak, the virus can still be passed, even if the other person is taking a medication for it. Play it safe, think of your health and consider the option of a virus that you can never get rid of.

It depends on how much I liked the person to begin with. If I really wanted to be with the person, I probably wouldn't care that much about the herpes and I would date them. I wouldn't sleep with that person right away (that's just not the kind of person I am anyway)....but if things got to the point where I loved the person and wanted a sexual relationship, then I wouldn't care about herpes.

the fact that she advised you says plenty approximately her emotions for you. that isn't an person-friendly element for somebody to declare. Herpes can happen to anybody, it does no longer recommend you're a grimy individual yet you relatively could be very careful in case you 2 do have intercourse and use risk-free practices. Oh and that i'd certainly quite spend my existence with somebody I enjoyed to dying that had herpes than somebody that I only tolerated that did no longer have it!

What type of herpes you talking about? Virtually every human being on this planet have 1 or more members HHV they aquired during adolescence (usually several by this time). If you are referring to genus HSV, it is usually aquired, as stated previously, by direct contact during adolescence. Ill assume you are referring to HSV as its shrouded in most mystery and misconceptions it seems. Being that genus HSV can infect any part of the human body via direct contact leads it to being stigmatized unjustly (especially in certain less openly discussed areas of the body). Consequentially, a person that answers "no" to this question eliminates roughly 80% of the dating population of the entire planet instantly.

Yeah I would if I wanted to be with them. They did not ask for herpes so... I wouldn't hold it against them, Just use protection during sex. Don't have sex during a breakout and have him take a suppression medication .
