My friend has Genital warts. He went to the store and bought wart medicine ( the kind you put on your finer, or knee) and applied it to his penis. Apparently the warts fried and fell off. I don't think this was a good idea...what could happen? Infection?

Those medications aren't intended for the genital area, but if he uses them they won't kill him. It's still not a very good idea though.

It's possible for him to irritate the skin and he could even get 2nd and 3rd degree burns from it. The medication is very strong for a sensitive area like the genital area. Even prescription medication, like Aldara, can cause 2nd and 3rd degree burns if not used correctly.

Your friend needs to go to a doctor and be tested for HPV. Genital warts are from having sex with someone who has them and they can reoccur. The doctor paints on the mixture, not sure of the name, and this will get rid of them. But the HPV is always with you.

No, sounds painful. Tell your friend he can go to health food store and for $5 get Thuja, that is a safer way to remove warts.
